Tina Turner and Private Dancer, what can be said except she is one fine, sexy woman. She is talented, beautiful, classy and elegant. She is a Survivor, a Warrior and is Simply The Best.

So glad she's in a relationship that works. She deserves it. Lucky to be living in Switzerland, too. Apparently her children are doing well. Never hear anything about them in the tabloids.

The voice, the song, the message. The beauty, the soul, the heart in everything she performed. The seriousness and determination she had throughout her long career, to give the people her very best, no matter what she was going through. I honor her for that. Happy 35th! Looking at songs from 1984; this one was released a few week's after I was born. Tina Turner's Simply The Best is the first star I remember seeing on TV, which, in the 1980's South Africa... She's an extraordinary woman, inspirational to a lot of people for a lot of different reasons.

I'm reading her book and I was drawn to watch her old videos. I'm an 80s girl and watching this and other music videos of hers has brought back so many great memories. I have always respected and loved her music.

She has a unique raspy voice for sure, but there are plenty of singers who have just as, if not better pipes. Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Aretha Franklin, Lady Gaga, etc. to name a few.

I think she was in her late thirties here, I thought she was 50 when she made her comeback but she was much younger. She is so unique and amazing.

I never could forget those first few lines of the song's lyrics, when I first heard them in the mid eighties,, matter of fact I just typed in some from memory and I was close, (deutchmarks instead of reichmarks.) And It seems its been about 40 yrs since I heard this song as well. The lyrics are so true but also so depressing.
