I learnt a lot of things from this speech, honestly a lots of my thoughts were spoken about by Comrade Senator Adams Oshiomhole, I once lost a tear for Nigeria and I asked a question "How did we get here?" When I had Naira was once valued more than dollar. In all of this, if Nigeria can revert to the other system, then we will be liberated again, but here is the big question " How can we revert, when those in the hems of affairs are only there to steal the common wealth ?"

My Honorable Senator Adam, I have always sang your praises in the transformation of Edo State, and the eyes opening you single-handedly brought about good governance, please I think we can replicate this at the Federal level. Implementation has always been our biggest problem in Nigeria, with these policies you outlined here, Nigeria can and will get back to its formal glory as the giant of Africa. We should not let others determine what our future holds but we should be the ones to determine that by ourselves, thank you so much and I hope the emilokan government can take a cue from this and try to implement some of these policies to develop the Nigerian economy.

Comrade (Senator) Oshiomhole was a governor, APC Chairman and currently a senator of the FR, what has he done to reverse these situations? Has he proposed any bill? What exactly has he done to further the cause of bringing back businesses to Nigeria? I have seen none. It's easier for them to occupy offices, get funded and let the sleeping dog lie. Oshiomhole should be congratulated for making a very brilliant analysis of how Nigeria domestic industries was destroyed and he praised China for developing one of the greatest Economy of modern time. It is also important to note that China was able to do so by providing lucrative tax incentives, cheap electricity, cheap labor, and forcing the foreign manufactures in China to train the Chinese, and only use raw materials only from China. All these were done under patriotic leadership, that viewed corruption as poison to the society and should be punishable by death or long term imprisonment. If Nigeria can have leadership like that , then Nigeria will be a great Nation. Great Countries always have great leaders.

@@nwekeasaadolphus6597 Public primary and secondary schools were so dilapidated before his tenure but he revamped them to life. There were lots of roads in city centre that were death traps. They were so bad that one particular one was well known as bad spot. He made the road and many other roads good for vehicles. Edo has never seen anything like side walks, he brought it to Edo state. He worked in various senatorial district not just the capital. He beautified the state. Ring road the centre of Benin City was modernized. It was a far contrast to what was attainable before his advent. He introduced the comrade bus that brought about cheap transportation within the city and other parts of the state. He brought about the storm water project that did its best to curtailed the ravaging effects of floods that has almost taken over the city. Landlord and residents in places in Ikpobahil axis after first upstairs will forever be grateful to Oshiomole. A massive gully was reclaimed to a level land. Whereas many landlords had already left their houses. I was born and brought up in Benin City. That particular road has always been in the news for the most part of my adult life. It got done only when Oshiomole was governor. He introduced a robust waste management system. And installed waste bins in strategic areas especially in ring road. Many roads around the most market were blocked because of traders. He made sure there were no more street trading especially in upper lawani axis of new Benin market. If you are a motorist plying that area, you will know how free that place became compared to how it was before. These are what I saw first hand, compared to other governors he is light years ahead. He could have done more but he is the best so far. That is the purpose of this discussion

Dear Oshimole, Nigeria joining WTO was not the problem. The problem was having visionless leadership that could not work out how to "use" WTO irrespective of what the west was expecting. Ironically the west has linked the rise of China to joining the WTO (infact there are several school of thought in the west that believes it was a mistake to have allowed China join). Why didn't joining WTO wreck the Chinese? How come joining the WTO actually worked in the favor of China? It's because of a purposeful leadership. The west wanted China to be the warehouse and manufacturing hub of the world while they remain the innovators and value addition experts in the supply chain. It worked for decades and the west profited immensely from this arrangement. Western company stocks spiked and the dollars was rolling in. China on the other hand had their own long term vision which was not to be perpetually a low level manufacturer but to become a player in innovation and value addition. If they had visionless leadership, they would have still being where the west wanted them to be. So Nigeria could have still joined WTO and seen it as a long term opportunity. What policies did FG put in place to ensure we exploited that arrangement? Did China join WTO and just fold their arms? Since we keep on saying they don't want our industries to grow etc. Which means we know there is an agenda, what agenda did our leadership put in place to mitigate those western agenda? Unfortunately our leaders have liklely spent more time strategizing on how to clip the potential progress of one particular region or another, how to sabotage a positive or raising national ideology instead of thinking on how to utilise joining WTO. If you know that your neighbour has an agenda against you, what are you doing to ensure that agenda fails? Do you do exactly what he/she wants you to do or do you surprise him/her in the process with your own agenda?

Bro I love your submission but you can't compare Nigeria with China. Heck you can't compare Nigeria with most countries outside Africa. Reason been China for example is a nation state of over 5000yrs of history. They have had enough time to learn and unlearn , build discipline, a national consciousness and unity. Nigeria is a country of 60+ yrs. You can't give what you don't have. We are not even a nation yet. It's like comparing a poultry farmer who has years of experience running a poultry farm but due to hard times his business finally folded. Then this farmer decides to start up his poultry business again and here comes you a new comer wanting to startup the same business. Yes you both on the surface a starting from thesame level but in reality you are not. The experienced farmer will for sure do better. It's the same sentiment I have when we compare Nigeria to India, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Egypt, Abudabi..... These countries have a rich history of running big civilisation states. We don't. Before colonisation there is barely any ethnic nationality in Nigeria that ran a sophisticated empire of considerable size apart from maybe the benin empire and maybe one or two up north. The rest well decentralized glorified fiefdoms. Now we brought together and you think I we can just easily compete? It's gonna take time. We got to go through the process.

@@xfactor6099 yes china has a long history as a country we were richer than china at some point and projected to be better. We only have visionary Thieves not leaders just like he has said. We don’t need to exist as a nation for 10 thousand years before we get it right, we can learn from the mistakes of those that are sure. This is one of the most brilliant lectures I have listened to in recent times. The citizens of my country Nigeria doesn't have any business with poverty considering the amount of resources we have as a nation, but some greedy ones have kept us where we are.

He wouldn't care how he governs because after all he still has the money, the electoral commission and the courts in his pockets! Tinubu wasn't elected in the first term and so why would anyone expect him to be elected in the second term?

@@albertmoses6581 he speaks with both sides of the mouth. If Tinubu had supported him to force his anointed candidate in Edo on the party and members he will never be saying what he is saying now. I just want to applaud comrade Oshiomole for his analysis about the past and present situation and the important issues that can save our country and bring us back to our stand unlike arise tv and the crews criticising government without any solution! No wonder can't see any reasonable living going there for anyone interview except nation destroyers like them
