On 8:36 it kinda gets me like what this place really are… these days we become like so comfortable with stuff and getting everything we want. But this place is made for people that have like nothing or living at their lowest and they don’t get judge by the owners. I remember looking at Goshiwons in Busan and they were like $300-400 a month back in 2013, so this one is a great deal. The thing about Korea is there are so many 24 hour / late night spaces outside your home, (like PC rooms, cafes , restaurants) all you really need your apartment for is sleeping.

Honestly, for the location, wifi, and security alone, $175 is a good price. especially in this economy. i also only ever had good experiences from small family-run businesses.

@@Bob1332s the dorm room I stayed at my 10 years in the US is only 4x bigger but at $1000 per month with also shared bathroom and no free food. I'd say this is a very honest living service suited for students and people who are trying to get by. Students can study and do work in libraries and use the space to sleep.

I love the sarcasm all the way through. Sarcasm is something we Brits do a lot and it’s nice to see other cultures doing sarcasm well too. It’s nice that her family seem to be genuinely trying to do something good with the place “make it look like a hotel” and giving those who stay there a better standard of living than they may have expected.

We desperately need accommodation like this in London. One thing I miss about my time in Seoul is my Goshiwon. My Goshiwon had it's own shower too. And it was so cheap compared to literally anything else here in London that you can rent.

Goshiwon are pretty decent. It has security and free basic needs: rice, ref, water, has a clean common toilet and bath. All good. We can thrive here!!!

I remember watching a similar video done years ago showcasing these tyles of living quarters and it was very fascinating to hear how much they get to share but at the same time how much you get to save. Definitely a very interesting concept to decrease various overhead of housing.

I lived in this kind of place once because of contract issues, it is surprisingly livable. And for someone who barely gets home just for sleep, like students, this is actually the best option to save money. Just keep in mind to regularly ventilate the room.

I stayed in a more upscale goshiwon that had its own bathroom, desk, and window facing outside. Granted, it will get quite hot since the space is small but if you’re really strapped for cash, it’s ok I guess if you’re not in the room besides a few hours a day or just for sleep

other than the small closet and the shared bathroom and the non-existed sound proofing on the wall its actually seems nice and cozy
