I guess I got lucky, paying 600$ for a basement, in West Vancouver, whatever the one is called that has your kitchen, living space in one room and a bathroom.

This is a sad state of affairs. The location of this studio apt is one of the least desirable in Vancouver so the rent should be lower. This is a situation that creates the rich get richer because they can charge more due to the rental crisis. though it would be cheaper if Luis lived in an Eastvan Home shared with others. I understand that if it included the murphy bed that is a major expense still. I work and have a job that pays okay but not for Vancouver. My $500000 condo might by me a studio apartment in Abbotsford :( an hour away from Vancouver.
