I believe so, but I'm not 100% on that. I haven't got around to simming Prot Paladin at all yet. A lot of the changes that are not ret-specific like SoV debuff application should apply to prot as well as ret. You could always check the WoWsims Github page and look at the pull requests to see if they fixed it for Prot. If I wasn't on mobile, I'd do it for you.

I just heard that another update may be coming soon for Prot, so maybe it's not fully done yet, but not 100%

It's just useful to know when your next auto is coming and giving you another stack of SoV, to make sure your auto goes off before you change targets, stuff like that. Not necessary. With 2pc t10 you can use it to judge when the auto is coming which may invoke a DS reset, so you can expect it before it happens, and make sure to get your DS on cooldown before it goes off.

Yes it does, ignore my deleted comment. It does proc SoV, the swing roll, and the dot application as well. One of the reasons it is so strong for us, because it procs a seal swing. It will also proc command, if you're in command.

without shadowmourne its still around 1300 dps over having greatness if you are in ICC bis. and about 1150 over deathbringers will. the normal version is about 85% of the power of the heroic version, so yes it is still quite good. in full bis the normal version is only 215 dps worse, which sounds like a lot, but its still an insane trinket and you would never use anything else over normal jar.

I think it's simming worse than their other p4 trinkets still, not sure if there was any sim changes for them in regards to TAJ. But I'll double check and update the sheet if need be

@@surveillant hmm this may be because the Enha being simmed is spellhancement, but endgame Enha is physical, windfury flametongue enha

its possible if it is coded as a melee attack, but that would be kinda cringe for that to be the meta.

Can you elaborate a bit more? Went to the shaman discord and they have the same gear set pinned as my sheet is using. our settings are different tho, and the pinned link sims worse. They do break 16k, but only on the shorter lengths like 2 minutes.

spoke to some people in the elemental channel and it seems the sheet is, in fact, already optimized for max dps.

The sim accurately models TAJ (Tiny Abomination in a Jar) for warriors. When I filed the bug report with the sim team it led to some discussion where I learned that TAJ had been implemented by the sim team based on the documentation of how it worked for a rogue and modeled it in the sim that way. retribution was the only spec that was not modeled correctly, and their were questions surrounding the design choices that Blizzard would make that would impact the way the trinket interacts with retribution. Forewarning this will be a very simplified explanation of how the retribution interaction works. The microprocessor in your computer can only handle one instruction at any given time, and creates the illusion of multitasking by a process known as threading. Keeping this in mind, in original wrath when a retribution paladin would auto attack and apply a seal, this couldn't possible happen simultaneously. In original wrath the auto attack would happen and would either miss or be successful. If the auto attack was successful it would then attempt to apply the paladins seal. I say attempt here because in original wrath the seal had a chance to miss. Given retributions hyrbid nature it makes for some very interesting interactions with abilities. Even though the seal damage is considered a spell, the application of the seal utilized the melee hit chance when determining application success which is why these sources can proc motes from TAJ. The same applies to the righteous vengeance application and the other sources that are capable of proccing motes from TAJ. In classic application is guaranteed and is not dependent on melee hit rating which is why there was question as to how Tiny Abomination in a Jar would interact with retribution as it would require deliberate action from Blizzard to recreate the same behavior experienced in original WotLK.

I can't speak for all the different classes, but I know Ret sim has been really accurate in previous phases. And I have been updating the numbers constantly, just updated a bunch today and yesterday. Some Sims are of course more accurate than others.

"Ret brings far too much utility to be the top melee cranker." Except you don't even need a ret to get most of said utility. A 3% raid damage buff if you don't have any arcane mage holdouts is the only important thing that can't be provided by three other paladins that are very likely to be in your raid already as prot and holy. Before the dps changes having a ret in your raid was an active joke. The changes put us firmly as a mid tier so that there at least was an argument against being actively ignored for semi serious raid comps. Going into ICC, even including swinging a legendary weapon for those that can use it, the top 7 are for the most part within only a few hundred dps of each other out of 16,000+. And ret isn't even at the top melee spot, that belongs to another class that has received it's own classic version buffs. And while blizz has made it so twice as many people will be getting shadowmourne, that means that instead of a guild only getting one during relevant content it will be two, maybe three max depending on RNG. The half at minimum of players still will not be getting one, which makes the max potential dps rankings that much higher than where the average will sit.
