I was sent these tiny fishing lures, or minnow lures to my Mailtime segment so I decided to try them out. They're the smallest crankbait, or minnow lures that I can remember ever using. These tiny lures take a bit of practice, but they certainly to catch fish as I demonstrate in this video.

Interesting looking lures. Good video Robbie. Hopefully I can get some lures up to you soon, im sure you'll be intrigued by the action they have, much different to many other lure brands. I know you might not get to use them but fingers crossed you at least swim them, they'd be perfect for your tiny creeks that you fish.

Iove catching lures on these cheap lures. I recently got a 57cm cod on a 2 dollar swimbait that swims just as good not if better then my $20 swimbaits. I find even if hooks are shit on some of these lures but they swim good you can change the hooks and split rings and still come out a mile in front with cost.

Those tiny hard-bodies are exactly like you said. They can be tough to cast and have a finicky action all because of how small they are. I bought a bunch of about 8 or so a couple of years ago from Wish or somewhere. I think it was 8 for $10 or something. They were all around the 37mm mark and I only have 2 left lol. The rest got munched and never seen again. Originally I bought them for throwing to tilapia in local creeks and ponds, but decided to try throwing them at bream and whiting too. Lost 2 in back-to-back casts under a pontoon to hungry bream. Heaps of fun, but you won' keep them long.
@HookedOnFishing61
@HookedOnFishing61 Ай бұрын
You get what you pay for. $10 for 8, you shouldnt expect anything good. Buy quality and get quality results. My lures cost $20-$25 each but are phenomenal, rarely break the bibs and swim perfect everytime. The fact of the lure swimming off is actually called " hunting " and some makers only hope to achieve an action like that. But cheap lures will often break action due to their cheapness.
@TheCaptainbeefylog
@TheCaptainbeefylog Ай бұрын
@@HookedOnFishing61 You're absolutely right that you get what you pay for. I'm on a pension and thought $10 was a good price for 8 throw away lures, as I expected nothing from them to start with. I had tons of fun using them and firmly believe I got my $10 worth of use out of them. I wouldn't touch a $20 lure. There was a time when I didn't care what I spent on fishing gear. In the 90s I had reels that cost $10k EACH for chasing marlin and wahoo. Now I buy most of my gear in Kmart.
@HookedOnFishing61
@HookedOnFishing61 Ай бұрын
@@TheCaptainbeefylog that's understandable. Hand carved and hand crafted lures cost a lot more unless its plastics or jigheads, I sell those way under what big companies charge, they rip people off. Once I make my lures in resin it drops the price down by $10 which helps people like yourself get a quality lure at a cheaper price but I also love to help out pensioners, people with disabilities and kids and give out free lures to them, not heaps but whatever I can afford to. Get a good enough kick out of seeing a smile on their faces, more than what money could even do.
@TheCaptainbeefylog
@TheCaptainbeefylog Ай бұрын
@@HookedOnFishing61 I have 4 rules about lures. 1- Match the hatch. 2- If you're not getting snagged, cast in closer. 3- Don't expect to keep it forever. 4- Most lures are only designed to catch fishermen. With those in mind you can see why I get a bit squirrely about paying a lot for a lure lol. I'm a fan of well-crafted gear, made by people who care what they're doing and certainly appreciate that this makes them dearer. Competing in a modern market against giant automated foreign factories would have to be a nightmare proposition. I can only admire you for having a lash at it. Fingers crossed that Robbie hassling trouts with them will gain you some traction!

2 Things prevent me from going fishing. Not catching fish. And getting snagged and snapping my line all the time. Could you make a tape showing how you manage to avoid both those scenarios , in the worst possible conditions like in this creek. ? I would get pissed off in under 15 minutes at this creek - actually I would not even attempt it.

It's all about practice. Practice makes perfect. There's no real way to explain how to avoid catching trees other than through lots of casting practice.

Great skills. Your so skillfully catching the fish I'd say you could catch a fish take a photo put it back and then cast and catch the same fish again a few times until he slowly realises something is just not right then he would swim under a rock wondering what's going on.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Not totally correct about fisheries dropping Trout out of plan's. Yes they definitely do but those little Trout have tiny parachutes, biodegradable obviously 😅😂🤣🤣🤣🤣 Ya just can't see the parachute because there is normally thousands of fish getting dropped at once 😊🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 If only people did more research for themselves, imagine that 😮😂 Hopefully BangOnFishingAadventures leave a comment about those lures & availability. Anyways time to stork his channel me's is thinking, might be info there. As always bloody ripper vid 🤟
