Tiny House Giant Journey

Күн бұрын

Meet Hannah, Greg, and their daughter Taylor. They built a 225 sq ft tiny house so that they could travel the world without the burden of a mortgage. First, they traveled around the USA with their tiny house in tow. Now they park their home for a fraction of the cost of the typical home mortgage, so they can pursue world travel.

So thoughtful to incorporate your dogs needs❤Great tiny! I’m always interested when people from USA talk about hanging their clothes outside, in Australia it’s the no 1 go to so viewing clothes on the line is normalised. When I lived in Scotland people would hang out their clothes in the freezing weather 💤 Good luck. Central Victoria Australia.

Appreciate your kind words! We anticipated outgrowing our space around Taylor's 2nd birthday, but market conditions have us here a bit longer. For now, Taylor has the option of a fold-out couch bed or a spare room, since we're temporarily with family. We've even thought about adding a small loft, but the exciting news is we're currently securing another 16ft tiny house with a loft bedroom just for her. It's all part of our adventure! :)

From a designers standpoint, job well done! Don’t listen to the negativity and most importantly if you decide to go back out on the road and home school remember that home schooled children are well rounded and very balanced in the world. Unschooling children could be considered a form of neglect/abuse as all children deserve a proper education but most importantly they deserve friends their own age a sense of home...kind of hard when your parents are dragging you from one of THEIR destinations to another.
@SouthFloridaSunshine

Right, @akenjah they said when they “were” traveling. And when their daughter was smaller. I think they have that couch too that is a pull out if she wants more space. Her sleeping quarters seem like it might have been behind the headboard too, so a mini room. And probably they could eventually do a reno and a loft or sell and get a larger tiny home. So much negativity. And homeschooling is legal in every state no one mentioned just unschooling and that actually is legal in some states and is not how people assume with its given name.

They answer a previous comment stating that they might be getting a second tiny house with a loft for her which would be perfect especially as she is an only child. I don’t see this many complaints when you see parents with multiple children in a cramp space where all they have is a small bunk to call their own

@@TinyLivingBigAdventure That's good to know, thanks! Yes, the problem [my future concern] would be is once the hurricane lifts a tiny house [knock on wood], I guess one has to start from scratch. So, how does the house insurance cover a tiny house, enough to be able to rebuild or buy another, is there an option like that for a tiny house? I am thinking of living in one, hopefully in FL or UT or SD [if there is any posibility] when I get to retirement age. Sorry, I've no idea🤔 what to do and by then I'd be a widow with no children.

@@suedesignable It becomes people's business to comment if it's online - everything on KZfaq is effectively public information, it comes as part of the territory. @strawberrykatnz

@@suedesignable Well I think jumping to the child being in harm is a bit irrational and some of the comments were a little farfetched but plenty of them were genuinely concerned about her having her own space, there's nothing wrong with that. But since we're in agreement that the child's safety and security should take priority, you should agree that she shouldn't have been put online at all for disgusting people to extract her image and use for whatever the hell disgusting things people do. Gross. Sadly, that happens. Check out the Dad Challenge Podcast and you'll see what I mean. No minor should be put online because they cannot consent. Period. However, everything that IS put online is open to comment and questions. The internet is a public space, full of a diverse range of information to comment on, ask questions, debate, learn, or unlearn. You, however, are jumping to insane conclusions about the intent of the person you replied to in this thread, and to me, who enjoys name calling strangers. What makes you so entitled as to think you can place comment on behalf of strangers? Because you are. I believe the family don't require your ridiculous comments when they have already put a valid and well thought out response in general. They don't need you to speak for them, so maybe stop accusing people of being busy bodies and stop being so entitled as to speak for other people. Take your own advice and go find something real to occupy your time with. Have a nice rest of the day and consider going to meditate or something, you sound like you need time to relax and wind down. Go do something that brings yourself joy. Have a good one.

@@suedesignable I don't have tiktok or Instagram either, the less social media, the better. 🤣 For the record, I didn't place comment on the family at all. I was simply replying to you, letting you know that your comments come across like you're speaking for them. I was somewhat concerned that you replied to them stating you felt "protective" over them, meaning you dived right in to accusing people of being critical. I was simply pointing out that you are likely confusing criticism for a genuine question, particularly after compliments on their home. I also didn't scroll through a lot of the comments forcing negativity as a response - while you have a point, so do I. My goal in replying to you is to maybe...let people speak for themselves and be careful with the tone of your messages because it comes across like you're speaking for others who didn't ask nor need you to. Someone else asked for the family's comment to the enquiry to be pinned which I thought was a great idea. PS: the Dad Challenge Podcast is on KZfaq! Go check it out, I highly recommend it. It covers our shared agreed upon points on the protection of children online. You might like it.

@@suedesignable The way you write, even if for a noble cause, is aggressive - take it as positive constructive criticism. You can stand up for something without the name calling - which you persist on doing. I don't really see why tbh. Only about 15 comments pulled up on my screen, most of which had you written aggressively in response. Some were as judgemental as you say, but many weren't. Maybe there's a marked difference in our algorithms which is why you saw what you saw and I saw what I saw. There's a difference between standing up for what you believe in and aggressively name calling and using an insanely aggressive number of exclamation marks to imply you're metaphorically yelling. It's just not needed, not to mention a waste of good energy. You're right, I don't know you - just as you don't know any of the people you were name calling and writing aggressively towards. I'm just saying, there's a fine line between your well-meant intention and how aggressively you come across in writing trying to point it out. You can be firm but respectful. I was simply stating my observation as much as you were with others. The internet is there for debate and discussion on content. I'm also not pointing fingers lol. You can make your valid point in a more polite way with the same impact. It's possible. No need to lower yourself to the levels of people who are so easy to accuse others of depriving a child. I get the vibes you're better than that. My comment to you was coming from a kind place, not one assuming you're a bad person - actually not at all. Have a good day

2:52 what is a “hip camp” ? I have been watching tiny home videos since long before it was trendy and I’ve never heard anyone ever use that term.

People are being so ridiculously judgemental!!! They are likely co-sleeping or their daughter is sleeping on the couch. They are spending their life with their daughter!!! She isn't being raised by daycare like so many families in America. Recognize that people are not all looking for the same life as you!! Beautiful home!! Wonderful life

That doesn't mean that their daughter doesn't need her own space. As she gets older she will need that space more and more. They should have a second loft area for her, even if it isn't used as a bedroom.

@@marywood8794 why are you and everyone so JUDGEMENTAL on where this tiny little girl sleeps????? Not your business or mine. Ad long as she’s safe, well cared for, happy, thriving and loved-that’s what’s important!!!!! Not anyone’s business. It’s very possible the traveling and her age, needing school, friends, is exactly why they are looking for land as they mentioned and will own add on more space for the little girl to have a bigger bedroom area than a spot in the loft or the living room sofa area but it’s disturbing why anybody would even question this!!! I can now understand why celebrities get fed up about their privacy. Just let people have their privacy!!! NOT your business!

nice house but a few things. ok. you want your electrical on the drivers side as with your water hookups. when you say left or right, its always standing in front of the unit looking back. the left side or passenger side os for living and your doors are on that side, the drivers side is where you always run utilities since all campgrounds factor this in. those propane tanks, they arent 20 pounders, they are 30's, trust me i know, im a master rv tech. 20's are more round and 30's are more vertical. you still have a nice build regardless.
