When my marriage of 18 years ended in 2018 I needed affordable housing on a single mom income. Somewhere in my search, I landed on the idea of tiny house living, and I never looked back. Living with less - with the option to relocate - is my happily ever after. Enjoy the tour!

I live in Virginia and there's not a lot of tiny home communities in my area. I'm hoping they're going to do something soon within the next few years and so I'm trying to get a design together so that way I'm ready. Awesome video

You did a fantastic job on your first video. You pulled it off like a pro. Your floor plan is perfect. After my Husband passed after 47 yrs. sent me into a real funk & I was thinking of Van life. In my house thinking on what rooms would be important to me. Congrats young lady you have the perfect, well thought out,& beautiful solution to every woman’s dream. This is it! This is the number one tiny house design. It checks all of the boxes. If I was in the position to order a tiny house, I'd tell the builder to build exactly this.

@@franciscoalsina4348 No. I did hire an architect to draw up plans for the Craigslist builder. When I handed them off to MitchCraft they made some wise edits for me so I do not have the final plans.

First, I would never have guessed this was your first KZfaq video. This was spectacular! The quality of it was top-notch. Second, as far as the tiny house, I am in love! I can see myself living in this model. It has everything I would need. The storage space was incredible. I am a huge fan of being able to stand up in the bedroom. Weird. Saw a tour of this house at least a year ago. Neat design, although the kitchen takes up too much real estate for me. The cool thing is how many ways tiny houses can be configured. Is Boulder County allowing tiny home parks or do you rent on a larger property?

You had a close shave with that Craig's List 'builder'. The fact that the first potential buyer of the house backed out was a red flag! So glad you managed to get your house built and it looks absolutely amazing. I wish the very long-standing tiny house 'movement' had made its way to Europe .It's still a rare novelty here and unless you're a builder/carpenter and can build and oversee it yourself, it's almost impossible to find someone trustworthy and experienced to take on the project.

Totally! I know! Looking back I definitely passed some red flags. The guy was super nice. I don't think he was trying to scam me in any way. I just think he was in over his head.

Your so luck. I know someone who went with a Craig's list builder. She got so bamboozled. She paid him to early. It was built shoddy. Then she had to go get it cause he was going to sell it to someone else.

Great presentation and tour of your tiny house. I love your design and how spacious it is. I live in an 8.5x26' tiny on the Oregon coast. If I ever decide on a tiny 2.0, it will definitely be wider (10') and probably longer (30' or so). Keep your KZfaq channel going. Love your attitude and your persistence. Happy Trails, Jen!

Love this. I went through a divorce at the end of 2022 after 25 years of marriage. It was tough, and I ended up relocating to another city to move in with my mother because of my financial situation. Imagine having to move back in with your parents after 40! Now a year later I'm ready to move on and tiny living is something I've been curious about for a long time now. I used to watch tiny house videos and fantasize about having my own tiny house one day. Your story is inspirational and your tiny is so cute and functional! Definitely see myself living like this.

Little did I know loving the tiny house concept was going to save me from falling short of a roof over my head after an unprecedented event, divorce. I love your tiny home. Absolutely stunning and perfect. I know you said right off you were recently divorced we’ll let me be the first to say that it’s his loss. You seem to be an amazing person and I think you are going to love the life now that may have been secluded inside you because of the whole marriage thing and being a mom but you are living for you and as a mom of 15 children you now need to live for you. I am a big empty nester too and I hate it but I love love when my kids come to visit. So love your life for you and let the kids see a whole new you. You are going to have such fun. Divorce frequently gives us opportunities to do things we never thought we would do-go places We never thought we’d go -experience life in a different way. I to am divorced For many years now, and I’ve done so much that I never expected to. Make the most of where you are - make the most of who you are.

Glad you partnered with the better builder. Have always felt rounded counters are smart . The 10’ width makes a ‘big’ difference. Trough tub is a super plus. Your hanging chair is also on our list. Wherever you go there you are HOME SWEET HOME. Gold medal for the tour.
