There are a LOT of people talking about self-care (which is a good thing). But they're not talking about some of my personal favorite self-care habits- the TINY life-changing self-care habits that I do at home literally every day. So, today I'm sharing what those are. When you're filled up, the world wins.

The string up is perfect. People don’t know how to “stand up straight” because they don’t really have the body awareness to get it right. I tell my patients to pretend there’s a pole running from between your feet, up through the core of your body/spine and straight out the center of the top of their head to the ceiling, and just picture elongating your body up along that pole towards the ceiling. They can visualize that elongation better than they can get individual movements right.

I love hearing that LeBron James prioritizes his sleep! I’m always hearing the advice that successful people don’t sleep and every time I hear that I cringe because deep down I believe it’s possibly to achieve big things without sacrificing prioritizing sleep or my self-care. Thanks for sharing!

Great video content! I must say you look so happy and content! New motherhood works for you! I like your tip about sitting taller, I’m gonna try that. Something else I do that is great for soothing the nervous system (especially when flooded with cortisol) is to hum. It helps me to sleep! I’m so bad at hydrating myself!

Thank you so much for your lovely words. I am definitely enjoying this new phase of life! 🥰 Let me know how it goes for you and if you notice any shifts or subtle changes after incorporating it into your day to day. Great tip about the humming! I have heard lots of benefits in just humming when overwhelmed/stressed to calm down.

LOVED this video. I do not have the money for a spa weekend. But I did splurge about $15 on a deliciously scented orange vanilla lotion. And every time my elbows are dry or my feet are sore or I just need a pick me up, rubbing that lotion into my skin makes me feel so good. It really is the little things that bring you joy.

Imagine a golden thread from the crown of your head. Feel yourself gently lift upwards as you inhale. Exhale and gently release your shoulders. The more improved your posture, the more space you are creating for your breath. Remember, whenever you feel stressed your breath is with you to bring you back into the present moment. A few moments are all you need to reset and show yourself love ❤

The answer doesn't always have to be "hard"... sometimes we bypass what seems completely obvious because we believe it "can't be that easy"... but sometimes things CAN be that easy, and we're just standing in our own way (I have been guilty of that.)

Something my therapist told me which can be helpful to some - box breathing or any type of breathing where you hold your breath will naturally wake you up. So if you're winding down before bed, try mindfully breathing as you would while sleeping, just breathing in and out slowly

Hello! Really helpful tips, thank you! ❤ I think it’s funny though that hydrating is so important for you. I drink a lot of water too, but I never use any cream on my face, lips, hands oder body and I get compliments for my skin (I‘m 45). It is never dry or even itchy. So, I guess everyone is different. Or maybe skin gets used to getting „fed“? 😅

So amazing that just water does the trick for your skin! I drink tons of water during the day too... Harsh weather + changing hormones can definitely impact the skin.

I think I would have to do the opposite of the string up thing as I am super uptight most of the time. 😅😅 It’s like resting bitch face (also I can have that at times as well lol). Long story short I did a little thing where I found out my energy type. (4 types). My type will sit all proper without thinking about it. It has its drawbacks of course Bcuz truly relaxing can be difficult. Like I’m sitting here watching this vid with my back arched. Lol. Not related but I tried the rosehip oil. I really love it. I now put a few drops in my soaking bath and I really love how it doesn’t make the tub all gross (to where I have to scrub it all the time as with other oils I’ve tried) and I can still get the moisture I need and I don’t feel just “coated” in grease either. I just feel soft when I’m all done. 😬

Sleep respect! That was a good one. Yes, when I had my first baby it was so easy, because we slept whenever we liked and I thought the baby time was so easy but with another child it got harder 😅 Now they are 5,5 and 9 years older and finally I feel like the sleep is better again, it goes up and down but I really see the difference, and naps should be more normalized!

@CmdrBittles
@CmdrBittles Жыл бұрын
If you really think about it, using the word woman/mother exclusivly when it comes to pregnancy and delivery dehumanizes women down to solely their reproductive parts. It also discounts mothers who use surrogacy to create their family. As if they aren't really mothers if they didn't physically deliver that baby. Using inclusive terms does not harm you. Not using them does harm others.
@katl6320
@katl6320 Жыл бұрын
@@CmdrBittles it really doesn’t. Humans are divided according to their reproductive parts which, in a woman’s case, provides a unique capability to birth children. She called herself a mom, she stated that her baby is a daughter. Are you now expecting us to believe she and her daughter have different reproductive parts than what a female would have??

She said oxytocin is important in labor and bonding with baby, the love hormone, but is not only important in pregnancy and in delivering people. Oxytocin, the love hormone, has to do with bonding, touch, the feeling of love with others, including babies, pets, and others in our life. She is not erasing women. She is saying it is important to everyone, and always, and not just when you are having and delivering and raising babies. Not just when you are "delivering people".
