Tiny portable dovetail cabin build “Lincoln logs for big boys”

Come along as I assemble the tiny dovetail log cabin. All logs were milled from old Christmas trees of the past. This cabin was built as a traveling log cabin that I can construct in about an hour alone. I will also build it in my town square in my Johnny Appleseed roll.

Thats awesome Jerry! No one knows all the work that went into dovetailing and rabbiting each and every log! The roof trusses were awesome how you included the porch overhang into them. That is truly a labor of love! Thanks for filming!

You could build a trailer with an axle under it then you don’t have to tear it down. Great job love your videos

You are a very creative and talented but extremely under rated man. Given the number of people buying portable wood mills for their woodland properties, I really hope you are selling or going to sell these plans. If I had youtube when I was younger, I would have built your cabin. It would have got me started at the very least. Later I could use it as a wash up room, or storage area. Most importantly, it would have given me the knowledge on how to make a larger historical cabin. Absolutely beautiful. Well done Sir.

This is the coolest project! I really like it. Will you please do a video that shows the inside when you have a moment? I have an idea: I think if you set the door to open out then you'll have more floor space inside. Just a thought.

Most timber frame structures are only held together by the sure weight of the Timbers them self . This is the same

They drop into a slot that is cut at a 45° angle. I do put 2 screws in each so the wind doesn’t push it up

Would it be possible to get an overall weight on it? I'm curious about transportation of it. Selling plans for this may net you a small fortune.

I don’t think it is over a tone. I’ve moved it 4 or 5 times. The next time I move it I will take it to the feed store and get a weight on it
