The Weekly Special looks back at one of our favorite Expressions pieces, and perhaps one of the tiniest! We join Althea Crome to learn more about her miniature creations, from tiny socks to detailed sweaters. Recently, Crome's artistry was featured in the 2009 feature film Coraline, hand-knitting the sparkling star sweater for the film's title character.

Okay, she's DEFINITELY an artist and an amazing one -- and using the Campbell soup cans as the pockets on the Marilyn sweater is GENIUS.

I cannot fathom the terrible strain on your eyesight doing this beautifully fine work, and worry that you are straining yourself for the years to come. Please safeguard yourself and have your eyes tested regularly.

Very cool, you wouldn't want to make a mistake in your knitting, imagine having to tink back all that beautiful work, that has taken you months and months to knit.

I got into knitting for a key component of another art project. I'm trying to make a toddler sized sweater, but I need the knits to be small. I'm able to work with 1.5mm needles, but any smaller and I can't work with it. Tough, may it's the yarn size/weight that's messing me up. Beautiful work.

I need to find needles this small. I know she's prob said it in another video where she had them custom made, but I gotta know how so I can do it too. They don't make needles smaller than 000/1mm heh.
