Meet my new Tanzanian House Snake pair. They are far from the world's smallest snake, but they are TINY. This video outlines what I know so far.
African House snakes are my favorite family of snakes. They have an incredible feeding response, they're a manageable size, they're very curious, and they hold on like a little Boa or Python. These are my second of many more to come in the Lamprophiidae family. see you soon

From what I know the reason there bites hurt so much is tooth shape what I’ve heard is there more of a cone compared of other species really unique species!

I’m constantly bit by Black Racers and I bleed yet feel no pain. My Jesus Lizard’s bites would hurt bad and I examined my bites from the Jesus Lizard and noticed it would actually “fillet” my fingers - slicing off thin layers of skin instead of just biting me.

House snakes are just the best. They make me do the Feet Thing too. I have been bitten by mine, but it wasn't that bad. Stung a little. It was my fault- he was aiming for the pinkie, not trying to bite me. Mine's a Black House Snake, and he's so TINY! Still working on getting him switched to FT.

@@leafystreet He's on live pinkies for now, trying to get him going with the idea that Eating is Tasty-Good, and working on every now and again offering FT in various ways. Sometimes some things work, but most of the time he refuses unless it's live. ..but I'm *persistent* so we'll work it out eventually. If I could find a source of ethically euthanized and frozen lizards, I might try that, hah. He's responded once to egg yolk scenting, so we may give that another go this week.

You can measure a snake accurately with a piece of string. Hold the end of the string by the nose and little by little run the string down the snake while holding the animal. Then measure the string flat. Easy peasy.
@alexcrowder1673
@alexcrowder1673 2 күн бұрын
There's also an app for measuring snakes. You just have to put an object of a known measurement, such as a ruler or sheet of paper etc, in the photo as a reference. The app calculates the snakes length along the spine in proportion to whatever object you chose. Its not as useful for small snakes, but this is the only way i know of to measure really big snakes quickly and accurately. Its a nightmare otherwise, because just holding a large snake down isnt ussually an option lol. Even with a string its hard to keep the string on them for the whole length of their body without it falling off and having to start over. Ive tried lol. If they want to move they will, and theres nothing i can do about it. The best you can ussually do is redirect their movement. You can't really make a 10-20ft snake hold still without a huge group of people.

Adorable 😍😍😍 My Kinue is a young/semi-mature housesnake (either fuliginosus, or capensis, not sure tbh) I've purchased some months ago. I didn't ask the breeder how old is she, but he claimed she's "grown up" so most likely adult, or adolescent. She's so curious and smart, but so easily scared and took her a long time to get used to me as her new (2nd) handler 💗🐍 I love her and my ball python female so much. I was thinking about getting a kingsnake in the future too, but rn my room is just too small for it LOL and let's just say I don't want my leopard gecko to die too quickly either, so I don't believe this space will be soon free, unless we'll install a rack system in the corner LOL good video, these snakes are trully unique and one of a kind 💗🐍

Was he previously eating frozen thawed? Id ask wherever he came from that first. If the answer is no, theres a chance he may have to give live a try if you havent. Fuli's need to be kept a little warmer and wetter than b. Capensis, so thats something that should be double checked as well; basically make sure your parameters are solid

Much love homie, have you ever thought of breeding Palm corn snakes? Not sure if that is the real/more common name for them, but if you do they are easy from what i heard, and once you get a ton of patron supporters, the non palm babies can be a sustainable/quick way to give away or sell to them, hell if you start doing it I'll most def take a corn snake baby, been bitten by a few snakes before, no clue about those snakes in the videos bites, but corn snake bites really arent anything, even young 8 thru 15 year old me that used to take sticks and pull them out of trees all over the place in South Carolina, rarely been bitten, but the fresh, new, non-used to my large monkey/ape self (5'4" btw), must scare them or something because out of the 5 I've had 3 or 4 bit me the first handling, and i had one that was horrible about bath time/ stuck shed (looking back i think she just had bad genetics or something) bit me a few times, didnt hurt, even when the snake was almost 5' long. One time i pulled a beast of a corn snake out of this tree in my front yard, homie lived in it i think he liked me because I'd pull him out and release mice that hot caught in the humane traps in the house and i think after a few months he/she associated me with food, either way, only tried to bite me once, even though i would pull this giant corn snake out of a hole in a tree with a random stick, great breed of snake, always chill, just newbie corns are kinda bite prone i feel, but it's such a weak bite you probably only notice if you see it happen. Love the videos man, keep up the great work, once Google/patrion takes my damn cash app card I'll be a sub there aswell homie, keep up the great content, big fan, even cut off ad blockers when i watch ur stuff :)

@@Spacey7 I’m pretty sure you don’t know a damn thing about what you’re spouting. As long as it doesn’t happen too many times, it’s not detrimental. I can pretty much guarantee that every reptile you’ve ever had was a result of inbreeding at some point down its family tree. I’m definitely not advocating for intense like breeding, as that certainly can cause genetic problems, but crossing back to a sibling once isn’t a problem at all.
