Hello from North America.(Colorado for now, then, on to Idaho permanently). My Series 2 (Hobbes) needed the brake lines bled. I am learning, slowly. Upon a very short road test I found the left rear brake to be binding. You were my first stop on this educational venture. Thank you. Now, time to go play. Adjustment device, eh? Kurt

When doing Landrover brakes you must have the brake shoes made to the size of the drum and then radius ground.If you put standard shoes on a oversize drum they only contact on the centre of the shoe and flex hence a very poor pedal.If you get a large round coin and put a small round coin inside it you will see it touches on one spot only brake shoes are the same.A brake shoe is a segment of a circle and there are different size circles.

Nicely done and well explained. I have done this job in my early year's working on my old man's series 3. Look forward to seeing a road test. Like how you painted the drum it will keep it protected for a few years.👍

i have fitted double snail adjusters front and back to my 88 works fine

I've only left one screw in each brake drum.. I work the drums off the hubs using a large screwdriver to pry from the back of each..

Easiest way to get the drum off is to slacken the adjusters, they normally come off dead easy then. You should re-adjsut the shoes snyway when re-fitting the drum

New drums new shoes for me, you wouldn't put old pads back on with new discs

People with vw baetels in my country they just repad it but with thicker liners

Its funny cos your cloth you were looking for is on the bumper the whole time

I'm not sure you don't have bad wheel cylinders and possibly you need to clean up your adjuster

Never ever hit the outside of a drum

Your studs look like they need replacing too so you can the nuts on further, don’t want that wheel coming off.
