Tioga Falls Nature Trail | The Quest to Find the Waterfall

Today we hiked Tioga Falls Nature Trail. It was a rugged uphill hike that was 1.9 miles to get to the waterfall. If you can’t hike a rugged steep trail, just sit back in your recliner and enjoy watching us huff and puff and gasp for air as we climb. 😅
Tioga Falls Hiking Trail is located approximately 1 mile south of West Point, Kentucky or 8 miles north of Fort Knox Main Gate on the Louisville Nashville Turnpike, from Highway 31W.
This two-mile walking trail is rough and steep, so use caution and hike at your own risk. Numerous injuries have occurred from trespassers/hikers climbing on the falls and not staying on the designated trail
The trail was developed to share an area with a unique combination of natural beauty and nineteenth century history. The trail lies in an area of Fort Knox used for military training and as a result is sometimes closed to hikers.
The trail may also be closed to hikers during some hunting seasons. Visitors using the Tioga Trail are required to strictly follow the posted rules and regulations or they could be prosecuted.
Signs are conspicuously posted during times the trail is closed.
Has Bigfoot been seen in this area? There have been many reports of sightings in the Ft. Knox area.
Even though this hike was rugged and steep, we enjoyed it. Hope you enjoy it too.
Thanks for watching,
Keith & Terri

What is the toughest trail you have hiked? Ours was Rainbow Falls in Gatlinburg TN.

We love waterfalls! We love uphill hikes a lot less. LOL. But a beautiful waterfall can make it all worth it. Thanks for taking us along!

Pearl also enjoys seeing nice creeks on the trail. That trail looks a bit tricky. Pearl loves Dateline, then I start watching and get stuck watching wanting to know who did it. Great falls. We like to pack a lunch and eat at the falls when we hike in.

Always enjoy just hearing the sound of a waterfall!! We've not had a good steady rain, so a lot of our waterfalls right now are just a trickle...maybe some heavier rains in the forecast for tomorrow.

Glad Y'all made it back. Good to see you carried water with you also. The heat is really starting to pick up and the humidity. Might want to check into a walking stick if you do many more like this. Helps with balance, twisted ankles and falls. You both have more gumption and stamina than I do for sure. Take care and thanks. Steve

I gage every trail, on how it compares to Rose Island’s infamous trail 3 climb. I’ll give a “75% Rose Island rating,” for a trail that’s nearly as tough. 😂

Great hike, is it hard to find the trail again after the detour? Have you guys done Hemlock Cliffs?

No it’s not hard to find. It’s marked pretty well. We have not done Hemlock Cliffs but it is on our list. We have heard that it is beautiful.

It looks like a beautiful trail, Terri and Keith. It's always good to start on the uphill portion. You never see "Bigfoot," but being a KZfaqr's, think of the views if you did! "Dateline" if you go missing? How about the "Blair Witch Project?" 🤣🤣 Right away I thought of the 🦟🦟🦟's. They're all over up here! Beautiful waterfall. I can see it went up quite a ways. Gorgeous area and we loved coming along on the hike. As you mention going downhill may be easier, but also more danger of a fall. Thanks for bringing us along.
