I put them in the silverware holder in the dishwasher. Put the lid on it, then put it on the top shelf. Works great!

Woohoo!! It works. I tried it with a dry one that I've already washed that had cake on it still. Thanks!

I came across this video when searching for a way to clean 6 or more baking cups in the dishwasher. For just one or two, I've found that putting a cup on the top rack of the dishwasher with a similar sized mesh sink strainer on top of it. They come out perfectly clean, but I only have two strainers so it's not very efficient.

Yes, that method is what I lke as well, but the smell of egg bites is hard to remove too. I bet that soaking in a hot water vinegar or baking soda bath may work. Off to try.

I use the non stick spray and can't get the sticky feel off of them, what would you suggest?

I just do really hot water and soap and rubbing them by hand. But I barely use any spray.

If it's an option for you, get a little oil sprayer (cleangreensimple.com/article/best-olive-oil-sprayers/ - I use the Misto one) and fill it with liquid coconut oil. Healthier and nowhere near as sticky or difficult to remove after.

I have health issues that make it difficult to do stuff like this. I can also never get the taste of dish soap off of them! Can they be boiled??

I'd imagine if it was a good quality material you could. Give one a try and test it out first.

P. S. I have the single silicon with a dozen moulds. So it's not just the actual mould, it's the bits that connect them

@@trixierose3266 definitely harder to manipulate. If it's nonstick buildup, a flexible scratchy sponge might be best?

So basically it's a pain in the butt no matter what you do. :/ Fine (sorta) if you only made a dozen muffins, but if you made several dozen you're going to be there a while. I was hoping there was a trick that made the dishwasher work, but apparently not. :P Thanks for the info, though.
