These shoes are leather soled! they will soften up with wear. If they are soft and bendy when you buy them, they are more flexible/comfy but they will not last as long. Some of l’intervalle’s sandals have synthetic outsoles but lots of them are 100% leather, so the stiffness is actually a sign of quality! There’s some discomfort breaking them in, but after some wear they become molded to your foot and last FOREVER. I’ve never purchased from l’intervalle so I can’t speak to their quality at all, but I’ve seen you make this remark about sole stiffness in a few shorts and wanted to specify that leather soles should absolutely be the exception to this rule :)

@@SmileyxKyley Ah, thank you! In that case…is the entire outsole just leather, or is there also a layer of something rubbery?
@SmileyxKyley2 ай бұрын
@@randomcat9975 It’s all leather! like how men’s dress shoes often have leather soles. Makes them a bit slippery on smooth surfaces/indoors at first but they’re sandals so I mostly wear them outdoors. Once I wore them for long enough the bottoms were roughed up and the slipperiness decreased, whereas with rubber soles as they wear down they get more slippery.

I would also avoid most of these that have a very narrow strap or only cover the front 1/3 of the foot. It makes so much noise and the sole flaps around! I like sandals that start at about 1/2 of the foot and wraps around my feet more for support.

Buy shoes with a back on them first and foremost. After being a ballet dancer for many years my ankles have shorted out on me. Having a shoe with a back on it prevents and helps protect your foot from injuries. Speaking from a place of being in a boot for over a year. 😵💫

Not wearing heels in the first place is the most comfortable. Heels are *terrible* for your foot health.

@@violetviolet888 a lot of heels are way more comfortable than flat shoes. And also wearing flat shoes isn't healthy
@violetviolet888Ай бұрын
@@aikonakashi5621 I never said anything about "flat" shoes. It depends on the shoe. Shoes with orthopedic insoles are the best. Wearing high heels places the foot in a position where the forefoot bears more weight than normal, placing more pressure on the ball of the foot and metatarsal heads or middle joints. Long-term use can even cause structural changes in the foot itself, leading to bunions, hammertoe, neuroma, equinus, and other conditions that may require surgical correction. In addition to injury, high heels place excessive stress on the back and lower extremities that can profoundly affect posture, gait, and balance. A high heel places your foot in a plantarflexed (downward extended) position, thereby increasing the pressure on the forefoot. This forces you to adjust the rest of your body to compensate for the shift in balance. As the lower body leans forward to maintain a center of balance, the upper body must lean back as a counterweight. As a result, the alignment of your body is thrown off, creating a stiff, unnatural posture rather than a relaxed, neutral one.

@@violetviolet888 how you never said anything about flat shoes, I never talked about high heels. In the first comment you just said heels, but for me, I don't know if it's a language issue, almost every shoe that isn't flat has heels. I don't really know if in english heels just refers to the high ones differently from my language, where that refers to just the little thing under the shoe that make it basically not flat.

A while back the heels with the stiletto flush to the back of the heel were all the rage and pretty much all you could find in stores. I hated the look and couldn't understand why women were endorsing that style when the shoes were so uncomfortable to walk in. This was maybe around 7-8 years ago 🤔

@beththegreenАй бұрын
I mean she means better than the exact same shoe shape, heel height, heel thinness etc but the one difference is the heel isn't fully flush to the back, and is a bit further towards the middle They're both hell, but the heel being more centered rather than flush to the back means it's usually better, probably because your body weight isn't unnaturally balanced on the very back of your heel Think about it, when you walk you dont balance on the very back centimetre of your heel Even in heels, your leg (this body weight) are balanced on the middle of your heel Imagine a skewer going through your leg all the way down through your heel It wouldn't be running down the back of your ankle where those heels are It'd be through the middle of your heel Sorry im a visual learner so my explanation isn't very good But i tried If i could do I diagram i would haha
