Just going to tell u rn that as a figure skater myself I don’t agree with this. It teaches you not to use your legs to propel you into the air. Instead, it teaches you to use your arms. I couldn’t even see her jump. This is why I disagree and I’m working on triple toe so I this is what I think.

Totally agree, she relies to much on rotating really fast and almost not using the legs

Hello! Also working on 3T and I think this can be a good exercise to get a feel of air position. HOWEVER, she seems to be relying on fast rotation over jumping with her leg. Jumps like these she can get by on right now but if she gets taller or gains weight she’ll most likely lose her jumps and have to relearn them with a different technique which is challenging

I also think staring with an outside 3turn and then putting your left (right handed) toe into the ice gets more power which could help with propelling herself into the ice, the small cheat on the jump would also probably be fixed from that because of her pushing with her leg more

@@lysolmyfishthis is true but it doesn’t work for everyone.

It also lends itself to pre-rotation with the purposeful pivot entrance.

She relies heavily on quick rotations and using arms, and not the legs, so with such bad technique she wouldn’t be able to perform the same jump when she gets older and bigger

Exactly, she’ll be stuck with a double basically her whole career if she doesn’t get better coaching or do more off ice conditioning

@@Na_GNS If you're in the U.S.A, yes. I'm not sure on other countries. LTS (Learn to Skate) classes are available in most ice rinks, and go through a set curriculum. Just search "Learn to Skate - Basics 1-6" or "Learn to Skate - Free skate 1-6." In the Basics classes, you'll, obviously, learn the basics to skating. In the Freeskate classes, you'll learn more figure skating related skills. By the end of the program, you should be able to do various spins and all single jumps (except, perhaps, axel. They tend to be more lenient on that.) If you're not in the U.S.A, it really depends on if you're able to get a private instructor, and whether they teach jumps/spins. There may be some other skating programs internationally, so just do a little research on a rink near you/the programs your countries offer.

Level four? i DoNt ThiNk yOuRe a LeveL fOuR. I think youre like maybe level/star 7. Also ive never landed my double flip before but ive started. The best advice i can give is when you pick onto the ice, wait for it to turn and then pass your leg?
@nataliejohnson59722 жыл бұрын
Hello! I have some advice that you can take if you want:) Take your time on the takeoff, go up first and look at the wall in front of you before you turn your head. Open up your leg, and once your in the air punch dow and stand up straight. Make sure to keep your right shoulder up (if you’re righty) and left shoulder up (if you’re lefty). :>
