We are working on colony raising our bunny's and have them together with our chicks and ducks. We are relatively new to all of this but so far so good. Give it a try :)

Would love to see a video of what you're doing.

have you considered long,under the bed type, plastic bins for under the cage by the fence? it would probably need a few drain holes of course. We had a couple rabbits in the 60's for 4H, wood frames and galvanized hardware cloth was the norm, we hosed them down once a week but the cages had to be replaced every 2-3 yrs

I'm considering a compartmentalized tractor to put among the fruit trees. Still working on it though.

What does a rabbit taste like.....A goose tastes like a pork chop with texture of tuff steak

Most things taste like chicken with rabbit being one of them. I think it has a richer chicken taste to it but really, you can't tell the difference.

Is it possible to use stainless steel for the catch instead of the corrugated metal? Would that keep the pee/poo from corroding so much?
@redneckwannabe11327 жыл бұрын
I'm sure I could find some ss but I would think pretty heavy not to mention expensive.

Actually I was just asking if it is possible...for my own when I am able to start a rabbitry . I don't know how the metal would interact with the urine/poo on a chemical level if at all. I have checked out a couple of restaurants going out of business and their SS tables & counters are incredibly cheap.

I would think that ss would be far less corrosive but way more heavy than corrugated. Personally, I just tried to get something cheap that would last a while and would be easy to work with dumping all the poo. If you can get ss cheap, it'll work.

Im considering rabbits. Did you find it difficult to dispatch them?
@redneckwannabe11327 жыл бұрын
I didn't grow up hunting or anything like that so I do find it a little hard to do it. I just block my mind to it and just do it. It still takes more time to clean a rabbit than I would like but it's getting better in all ways.

If you can take care of dogs and cats you can take care of rabbits. I have faith in you.
