If I am a provider for two recipients. Can the same class I take apply for each recipients or once I submit a training time for 1 person I can't use that for 2nd person?

Question: Can you submit the 15 hours of training for another recipient and get paid additional 15 hours of training or incentive when you provide for 2 recipients ? thanks

Hi, sorry for the wait! No. Unfortunately, the incentives are per provider, not per recipient, and you cannot be paid training time twice for the same 15 hours. However, there is no limit to the number of classes you can take, so it’s fine to log all of your hours for one recipient. The important thing is to make sure any specialized hours you do for incentives 2 and 3 are logged under the recipient who has IHSS hours approved in that pathway and for whom you will be working at least 40 hours per month. I have a question also. So I have done the first 15 hours in General and claimed them now I will claim the first incentive payment but since we can do the first one twice and I can not get into all specialized category classes yet and still need to get 5 more hours in specialized can I in the mean time do another 15 hours in the general pathway and claim the first incentive for the second time with 15 different generalized hours? So I would be doing 30 hours in Generalized Pathway hours all different classes of course and claiming the first incentive twice then save the 9 hours I have in specialized and on waiting list for the remainder and then once those are completed I can use those for the Second incentive and third? Is this ok to do?

Hello! Yes, you can do another 15 hours in general health and safety or adult education to get incentive 1 the second time while you’re waiting to get all of your specialized hours for incentives 2-3.

Just be sure to finish the 15 hours before the end of April or you won’t get the 6 month incentive

Hi! We suggest enrolling in self-paced classes, with Homebridge offering several options. Additionally, consider subscribing to the email lists of various course vendors, particularly Homebridge and CCA, to receive notifications when new classes become available. Hope this helps!
