Some great trips. We did the Gibb a few years ago with our van, and totally agree with your trips. we took 26 days in total, including Mitchell Falls and Kalumburu. Took you time and enjoyed the whole experince. Hopefully people will view your video and have and great time.

Great information for those travelling Australia. Getting vital information before you travel, can make all the difference between getting to your destination or breaking down on the side of the road in 50c heat. Everything you have explained makes common sense but most travellers today have no clue and push themselves and vehicles to hard. Thank you for going to the trouble to help many travellers have a more enjoyable journey and experience around Australia. Good one mate.

Thanks for the tips mate, doing the gibb in a months time and am very exciting. Main thin I have got from this is to go slow, travel 40km/hr and ur sweet

Absolutely. The other thing with travelling slower is it gives you time to react to large/sharp rocks, washouts, etc. We were in Broome a couple of weeks ago and it is not as busy as last year. Safe travels 👍

Hey Mate, great video, Saw your video on your Jayco after 1 year of ownership, and now after you have taken it on the gibb , id like to ask have you changed your thoughts on if you would buy another Jayco, as we are looking to buy a new van soon.

To be honest I probably have. We’ve just ticked over 3 years now and after fixing the issues we originally had it has been good since. The ACCC is starting to look at van builders and their quality so hopefully some good comes from that.

Hay mate Do you have trouble keeping the tow ball weight down with the pajero?? We have got a 19foot 6 rear door caravan on order and also have the pajero only to find out the tow ball weight is a problem Any help would be much appreciated

It’s a struggle to maintain it and it’s always changing as you use things like water. I try and load the same way and mindful of how it changes. Pajero forum has a lot of information.

Water mate, do any of the camp grounds have water? You said only 1 water point! If it takes you 3 weeks. I am a bit worried about water, should I be?

Can’t remember to be honest. We took 200L which lasted the whole trip but we used it sparingly. Maybe check on WikiCamps.

How long did you take to do it mate? Sorry for all the questions but we start in 3 days.
@gettingtheretravel

Just over 2 weeks. Only used water for cooking and drinking. Made use of showers at the stations. We’ve just left Broome and things are a lot quieter this year so you should find the Gibb not as busy as we did.

We were there in May/June 2021. Heading back up that way again soon 👍

Nice, i was hoping in May it would less corregated if the road is just open after grading. How high were the river crossings then? Think there has been more rain this wet season then recent years
@gettingtheretravel
@gettingtheretravel 2 жыл бұрын
There were only 3 deep crossings 400mm - 600mm. Rest were shallow. All depends on how soon after opening you travel. We went through about a month after the road opened.
