That seems ingenious brethren, I can't wait to try it now!!! I have a real issue with waste, if I could figure out how to unwind a double-wound Clapton while preserving it to salvage the spare winding for Aliens or something I'd be all about it. I tend to Clapton with my thumbnail right up to the core wire, I'll have to see if I can adapt this technique to my style. I wrap at pretty high speed and without looking this way, just going by feel. I use that same drill actually, and one tip I'd offer for it is that I prop the back end up to bring the chuck back down to level. I also clamp my wire spool on a dowel that's just a touch snug so it has just a little resistance as it spins. Keep up the good work, as always!!!

Great video! I'm a fan of Clapton coils and will definitely give this a try! Thanks for the "swivel" tip, it works great! I own a few different types of mod, rda's and rta's. It would be great to have a tutorial on the basics of how to work out the best coil to suit a particular setup. I seem to have a lot of fails, where the coils spit and pop too much and/or take too long to heat up!

One thing I've been really trying to figure out is building in really small atties, specifically an MCV Atomic. I usually build claptons and fused builds, but nothing fits in smaller atties. Would also likely be helpful for those who build in RBA and RTA decks a lot. Good to see you back on KZfaq man, was wondering what happened.

I would love to see a video explanation of the difference between using kanthal and nichrome 80 both as the core of a clapton and as the wrap wire, and what different effects it has on the ramp up of the coil, potentially even with a demonstration. Thanks a million for both the basic builds and the more advanced ones. Others who are new to this rely on experienced builders like you to teach. Some of have recently quit using pure nickel because of the health risks prevalent when over heating Nickel and have no reason to want to fight a third bout of cancer at my age. Thus, I am experimenting with fine gauge Copper, Brass and Bronze all of which I can easily excess.. I believe they will give me more clouds wifjh lkess heatr but will probably screw up the tast.. Again many thanks from Australia.. Cheers

Hey, you've probably thought about it already but what I always do is attach a weight to the loop freeing my other fingers to do other fingery things. Thought I might add my input as to how I do it. Learning as I go.
@HeyRnold
@HeyRnold 6 жыл бұрын
I use coil master scissors as a weight for my spacing. I run 32g through the scissors and then butt up next to my feeding wire like you do with your loop. The scissors have enough weight to not jump around and are still able to follow along with the Clapton leaving flawless spaced clapton

+The Art of Vaping As with those who have been in it for some time trying to do 'new vaper' type reviews, it'll be super important (tho difficult) to just act & show things, as if.... you know nothing about the subject. From the terminology to just doing everything slowly; pointing out each/every step along the way. (be it drill insertion, speed/tension.. trying not to gloss over basics) Being as detailed as possible, esp for those who don't build coils on the regular. will be important. It'll prob. save ya a shit ton of time too, since you won't have as many questions to answer after the video.... that prob could've been answered, in it. =p As a long time vaper, appreciate all the time/effort you put into this! All those complaining about the price of pre-built coils, or saying people are just lazy not to make 'em themselves OR... that one can go buy some intricate builds on e-bay for.... what was it... $1?! (c'mon now... get the fu#$ outta here... should be more like, who'd be dumb enough to vape that??) Even if one has the ability, the time. the materials, the knowledge........ They should prob. keep in mind that maybe it's that some cannot physically make coils. Whether they could & now can't... or never could... Whether their vision, dexterity, or something else.. keeps them from being able to build coils themselves.. wouldn't these be ideal? If they have enough strength or sight, however, to still be able to mount coils, esp on something like the TM atty or those w/ slottted posts now-a-days, rather than tiny holes.. These coils would be right up their alley. Quite sure they'd be more than willing to pay $30 for the opportunity to still be able to vape in the style they are used to; without being forced to just use a sub ohm tank w/ stock pre made coils. (that, once ya go through them won't last nearly as long & end up costing just as much in the end!) That said, as someone who isn't a 'senior'.... who doesn't have bad vision.... who is a long time, experienced vaper.... BUT. who IS someone w/ a back issue that's now causing a lot of numbness in my hands most of the time.. & who prob couldn't build/wind a basic coil these days, even if I wanted to... You just ignore all those haters, follow your gut.... & keep on doin' what you do, however YOU choose to do it! Trust.. that there's a reason for ALL of it........... :) Live long(ER) & vape on! Amanda/IL

I'd be cool to see the benefits of sed build versus another. Like the difference of vapor and flavor of a stitched alien vs an alien coil and how wicking abilities vary between them. I think that could help out a lot of newer builders. I know I've done a lot of coils that were not was I was looking for or expected and wasted time and supplies because all that was presented was a detailed tutorial with not much information on the coil itself and how it performs.
