Hello my friends!
Today I have a spacial video for you! This is a great tips from me how to store your conditioned polymer clay!
Everybody who working with polymer clay have one same problem - how to store opened, conditioned clay and leftover/scraps! So, this clay didn’t get drying and crumbling.. And also, we don’t want the different colors of clay mixing or get smeared!
Another big problem - how to store this clay to not take a lot of space on/in your table too!

I'm confused though because i don't know what the bags she cut smaller are. The links to the stores she gets them from aren't active, like the seller on Etsy, and on her website it doesn't say specifically what those bags are. I'm assuming they're cello bags that are meant for treat goodie bags.

I love the new way of sorting the clay I have been using a A4 sized folder because I can get the inserts for small CD pockets but this is a great way as the folders are a little smaller which means they won't drop with the weight like the system I am using but with my new cabinets that I am making the smaller folder will look better too, plus it would make keeping colour shades in their groups better 🤗thanks for sharing the new system 🤗😹🙀🙈

I love the idea of storing this way. So much easier. I do something similar. I use a regular binder and sheet protectors I cut open.

I used some sheet protectors I had on hand but I think the clay is reacting with it. The sheet protector has gone all wrinkly and the clay cracked when I tried to roll it into a tube bead :(

This is a fantastic idea. I have all my open clay in ziplock bags and then stored in a plastic container. On the long plastic folders you are cutting open, you said you would put a link. Can you tell me where to buy them and what they are called? Thanks.

Thank you! I think its depend from time.. But actually, I always recondition the clay on my pasta machine before I start to work with it! It's just take not so much time and efforts as you will do that from the scraps condition))

I don't even use clay, but my daughter does. Lol I guess that's how your videos got on my recommendation list. Lol but that is a good idea on storing them. I've already thrown away a few of them because they hurt her hands. She's 10 years old. 💙🐝💙

Thank you Eman! More than 6 month for sure (Kato, Premo)! But not sure about Fimo and Cernit ;)))) Because they dry very quick even when there are not opened yet!

Nice Idea! I have been storing the leftover clay in plastic baggies but end up having to condition them all over again (and that won't work for veneers). Those bags that you are slicing - they are cellophane? At my dollar store chain you can by 3 ring binder inserts for baseball cards (9 cavities in a regular 8x11 sheet) which will probably do the trick. But the cellophane now there's something I have to try! Thanks so much for your great ideas - I've just put in an etsy order for your texture sheets - they are gorgeous!

I just noticed the packaging you showed - those are polypropylene bags! But they seem a bit heavier than one can usually find here in North America. Staples will sell 1.2 mil thickness.

@@mlfett6307 They look more like cello bags to me up close. Poly bags seem a bit cloudier and more plasticky where it has ripples and bends whereas these are clearer, shinier, and smooth and stiffer.

Рада, что вам нравится моя идея! Конечно же не всю - да и смысла нет ее всю в пакетики раскладывать! Только ту что в остатках, разные кусочки разных оттенков но одного цвета вымешиваю в новые цвета, добавляю какой нибудь цвет для эффекса.. а так же подготовила раскатала нужные мне цвета - черный, белый, металики и мой любимый бронзовый! чтоб всегда были под рукой!

I did it, i made my own bag sleeves, now to make some custom colors! The challenging part was cutting them. I did order a utility knife but it never got delivered so i moved on and improvised with an exacto knife.

If I do it with Fimo it will be crumbled again after a while and I have to condition it again. I don't know about other brands

I agree with you about Fimo! But for other all it work very good! I just think that if you do this with Fimo or Cernit - need to use them as fast as you can;) and to not store them for a months!

The books are likely too much for most people lol. Just my experience with couponing tells me that. The containers sorting by color are likely a good idea for many. To each their own❤️

That's what i planned on doing, placing the plastics with the clay in plastic boxes with lids and having them stand on their own and labels sticking to the plastic that says what color is supposed to be in it. It's not necessarily the price of the card holders it's the space it takes up, i don't have space for 10+ folders.

Оксана, конечно же храню)) А смысл закрытые, целые пачки перекатывать в пакетики)) Только ту что в остатках, разные кусочки разных оттенков но одного цвета вымешиваю в новые цвета, добавляю какой нибудь цвет для эффекса.. а так же подготовила раскатала нужные мне цвета - черный, белый, металики и мой любимый бронзовый! чтоб всегда были под рукой!

Ludmila Bakulina шикарно конечно. Я лично возьму себе такое хранение на заметку. Реально, когда рабочее место хорошо организовано и работается в разы лучшее. А то пока найдёшь что то.
