Maturity is realizing that Reputation Taylor was more in love than Lover Taylor. Edit: In my personal opinion Lover is one of my favourite albums and I actually do prefer it to Reputation (although Reputation is absolutely amazing and I still love it with all my heart, don't get it twisted), I think that both albums reflect different aspects of love. I will say, however, that with the new TTPD denial playlists Lover may have aged poorly, but ART IS ART. It is INTERPERATIVE, it is MESSY, and Taylor was REALLY proud of both Lover and Reputation. I'm saying all of this because it's been a year and I totally forgot about this comment, turns out I have 2.5K likes and started a war. Oopsies.

Reputation is 100% my favorite album sonically. That dark pop sound is EVERYTHING, and Mad Woman, No Body No Crime, and Vigilante Shit have that same dark pop sound. Did you go through a scene kid phase as a teenager? I swear, those of us who were scene or emo kids LOVE Reputation. It's the album I use to convert my friends into Taylor fans lol. Reputation, then Folklore/Evermore, because in every scene kid's heart is a special spot for indie singer-songwriter music.

folklore for me is her magnum opus, she knows and has said (in the netflix docu) that her strength as a musician is in the storytelling and god fucking damnit if that entire album isn't one long story that's clearly out of order, focusing in on different times in the lives of different characters, I swear it could be made into a full length film using every song. I feel like it’s one of her most versatile because people come for the bad bitch energy and continue listening to it for the self-love and self acceptance journey that it depicts. Lover is also a really tough album for me, because I do objectively like a lot of the songs, but it’s also impossible to listen to if you’re not happily in love, which makes it a very niche album 😂

Rep and Midnights cause they’re just pure pop perfection for me and I just adore them, and Evermore cause it has so many songs that I just love to play in the background as I do other things! I want your dreams I really like all of her albums so I would have put them all in S Tier 😭 I think it's worth being said that Lover was originally going to be called Afterglow. So the whole idea is that Reputation was her villain arc. It was embracing how media antagonizes her and the people who aren't her fans perceive her and the failed friendships and relationships and revenge And Lover is a breath of fresh air after that. Daylight is a good reference for that Now she's in her redemption arc, finally making it out of the woods after getting Reputation out of her system In Lover she gets to just be happy and in love And then after that she gets to explore her maturity. She expressed her vindictive teen, then her naive child, and now she's saying "I'm an adult. This is what I've learned."
