That works on tubeless tires only. I have a Jeep, got a flat miles from help, pulled the nail, put in the plug, used my cigarette lighter power outlet to run my air compressor that I bought at target, and kept right on with my journey without even having to remove my tire. Put bicycle tire glue on the plug first so once it's in it won't try to slide out.

Delivered to one place and got a flat and, luckily, the guy helped me out with with same fix...I gave him a $5 (what I could out of my own pocket) for thanks so he could at least restock his supply. The plug he used is called a rope plug in the tire industry! It’s a rope with a sticky substance coating it, the problem with these types of plugs is if your nick the fibers and expose the fibers air will travel through the fibers and cause a leak! On a tubeless motorcycle tire if you’re going to plug the tire use a solid rubber plug!

Probably dont ride that hard either. I repair tires for a living. Push plugs never last. Not meant to be permanent, ive seen tire pressure alone push them out. (Granted on semitrucks). We use internal patch plugs with special glue/cement. A much better "permanent" fix but id never trust my life with either of those on a bike. Riding around on a plug patch for months or years is pure negligence and lazy.

So what do you do when you're 200 mi in the middle of nowhere? Plug on a motorcycle tire is designed to get you home so you can then properly replace the tire. On a car not such a big deal. I've had plugs last years. But there's no way I would risk it on a sport bike particularly.

@@kens97sto171 Well of corse if I was stuck somewhere 200 miles out I would do whatever I had to do to make it home or to a shop… but I would never ever ever fix a tire on a motorcycle with a plug and run it like there wasn’t anything wrong with it… I’ve had a blow out on a bike it’s not a very fun experience…

@@michaelcowan7456 Absolutely. The video just shows how to plug a tire. Doesn't give any advice on if you should ride it or not and how long. Think it depends a bit on the bike too. If you're on a sport bike carving the corners. There's a lot more stress on that tire. And the tire flexes around a lot more depending upon the angle. You're riding a cruiser, or maybe a scooter that doesn't do a lot of side loading. Or the weight is significantly lower. Or the speed is significantly slower. Like everything else in life it all depends on the situation.

Pretty sure the packaging on most plugs say that it's meant to be a temp fix until you can take it somewhere for professional repair. If that's the case, then anyone using plugs as a permanent fix on any vehicle(2 wheels or 4) probably shouldn't be allowed to drive in the first place.
