Cotton farming has some unique terminology. We call short low yield cotton bumblebee cotton. Tall high yield cotton we call it memaw cotton. A pass or a through. Then you have blank middles, solid middles and wide middles. Turn rows or end rows, short rows, long rows and point rows. Beds or hips. Field road or haul road. Module pad. Plowed or cultivated. I guess it all depends on where you are on the map 😂

I have enjoyed all of your videos this year. The last year I farmed cotton we picked it with a one row mounted picker on a 3010 tractor. Before that we drug a cotton stack. We did keep farming peanuts and of course we quit stacking peanuts. It was a big day when we moved up to a combine. Another big move up was a grain combine. Thanks so much for your videos. It’s amazing how much farming has changed in just a few years. Hard to believe we used to pick cotton by hand and had to stack peanuts on post. I’m not old enough but my parents and grandparents used to remind me all the time how good we have it nowadays. Merry Christmas

Why can’t you pull the stalk stomper behind the cotton picker and avoid using another tractor?

I can think of several reasons but I guess the main one is picker doesn’t have 3point lift like a tractor
