foundation-free in korea is a trend similar to "clean girl" makeup in the west, which essentially means you are not wearing a full or proper foundation plus concealer, you wear just some concealer or just some tinted sunscreen as your base makeup. in korea where women are still expected to wear a full face of makeup (primer, foundation, concealer, powder, setting spray, blush, contour, etc etc) in professional and most public settings, foundation free has been an emerging trend as women are beginning to compromise between society's harsh beauty standards and their own personal freedom
