Perfect timing as I am currently in the market for a 'works' hoover with various projects on the horizon. I had considered this Titan one but I am currently looking at the more expensive £120 (Argos) Henry Wet and Dry Vacuum. Henry's are always used by professional cleaners and a relative has had a normal Henry for as long as I can remember and it is still going strong. It is quite a bit more than the Titan but comes with a good hose and attachments that have stood the test of time and is also British made I believe and parts readily available should they ever be needed. The standard version is £100 so I was thinking for the extra £20 it might be useful to have the wet vac option should it ever be needed though I can't at present think when in the past I would have used it. I was also thinking of making up a crude all in one unit where I can use it with a cyclone and bin as this will save on bags and does a very good job of stopping virtually everything actually getting to the hoover. Well worth investigating if it is something you haven't thought about before. CharlieDIYte has some good videos about the cyclone on his channel as does Ultimate Handyman. Decisions, decisions.....I'd be interested to hear your thoughts Des and especially about the wet feature as yours also has this. Thanks!

You said this blower will blow the dust all over the place, when you’re vacuuming? I have a slug problem under my staircase, inside a cupboard where my gas boiler is. The slugs are coming from underneath my gas meter, where the wooden floorboard are. Stupidly, without thinking I poured down some salt around my gas meter, but that salt is now ruining my wooden floorboards, and becoming moist. So I need to remove the salt, and then I can clean the area up, using some expanding foam, and sealant to try and stop them getting in from my outside side wall, through the plaster that’s crumbling. My question is, when I’m hoovering up the salt covering my wooden floorboards, salt that will be dry and moist, as well as, potentially, some slugs in between, will it come out the other end of the hoover, the blower end??? I hope not, because it looks like a good hoover for the money. I also have a Henry hoover, so I’m hoping the metal hoover attachments might fit onto this hoover. Thanks.

Hi there and thanks for your question. If you vacuum up the salt it will NOT come out of the blower. It will go into a disposable bag inside the vacuum cleaner so you'll be absolutely fine. What I meant is that when vacuuming, the blower is also partially in use as the unit does need to expel some air (e.g. like an exhaust on a car). Therefore, if the area behind you is dusty when you're vacuuming it is this dust behind you that will be blown about. This is why the unit has to be used in a methodical manner. Hope this makes sense. Sorry if I confused things. Best wishes, Des

@@21stcenturycaveman33 That makes sense Des. Thanks. I have a Henry hoover, and even though it doesn’t have a blower at the other end of the machine, when the machine gets hot, it expels hot hair through the exhaust port vents around the machine, which blow out warm air, and can blow dust about when you’re hoovering. I just like to say, I didn’t realise the 30L TITAN Wet Dry Vac I’m purchasing from Screwfix is not the same model as yours. It’s an updated model, and luckily TITAN have redesigned those shoddy wheel castors, so no need to use superglue. The wheel castors slide in place, and are held in place by screws. Because I have a damp issue with my internal side wall in my house, some of the salt I’ll be hoovering up will be moist, and some of it will be dry. So I’ll leave the bag in place, incase it starts hoovering up also any slug eggs and slugs. Here’s the TITAN model I’m purchasing from Screwfix: TITAN TTB776VAC 1400W 30LTR WET & DRY VACUUM 220-240V (665KH) It’s £74.99INC VAT. By the way, I was wondering can you buy a cap with a filter that can plug onto the blower hole, when not in use, which will stop any debris escaping the TITAN machine, should you decide not to use a hoover bag, to make sure nothing escapes from inside the hoover. Or like you say, that won’t happen, it will just blow some air out when vacuuming.

Hi there. Good to hear that the castors have been re-designed as they were very poorly attached. I'm not aware of a cap and filter for the blower hole but I reckon you could make a good one using an old piece of cotton sheet or hankerchief or similar cut to size and secured with a cable tie? That's what I would recommend if it will put your mind at rest (not that I think it's actually necessary to do this though). Also, don't forget, the vacuum has it's own filter inside too. Try not to dwell too much on what may come out of the blower - if it vacuumed stuff up and simply blew it out the other end then it would be a pretty lousy 'cleaner' wouldn't it? It'll be fine!! Best wishes, Des

@@21stcenturycaveman33 That sounds like great advice! I’ll try that with a cotton sheet, secured by cable ties or an elastic band, so I can remove it easily, when needed. But like you say, it’s not actually needed. Also, I read somewhere, if you make sure the filter is changed regularly, it’s less likely to blow dust about, behind the machine, but I’m not sure it’s true. One thing I will change, I’ll change the inferior hose to a durable spiral hose, and attach a plastic hose bend from eBay, hoping that will help maintain suction when hoovering up what’s needed. Definitely, I was overthinking this. Thanks a lot Des. 👍

nice review, do we need to use a bag for the wet function?

Hi there. No bag needed at all. However, you will need to replace the round paper filter with the black foam one which is included. Hope this helps, Des

Nope. Won't work mate. To get to the filter the unit needs to be in 2 pieces! Nice try though lol. Des
