Really love the honorable celebrations, the gloating ones just feel mean 😔

Strangely, mean animations are played when you win a close match like 3-2, and respectful ones are reserved for victories with a score of 3-0 and 3-1. One would think that an equally strong opponent deserves as much respect as any other.

@@chromaticstorm787 i think it's because people might feel bad about beating someone into the ground so the respectful ones are to encourage the loser to keep trying while the close matches make you feel incredible about managing to win against a challenging opponent so your character gloats about it. I agree they both deserve respect, just saying why I think they did it like that.

I love how much thought the animators put into these

The victory animations vary depending on the score ratio I made this chart: 3 - 0: 1 of you kicking the opponent their weapon, 1 of you patting their back and giving them a handshake after they get back on their feet, 1 of you helping them get back on their feet 3 - 1: 1 bowing animation, 1 of you respectfully turning around while they salute you, 1 playful animation of you roughly grabbing them and giving them a noogie 3 - 2: 3 variations of an animation of you hitting your opponent while they're down, and laughing victoriously

3-0: these remind me of a dude knowing he's already won and doesn't need to rub it in, instead prompting you to step-up or being like, "I KNOW you can do better" while the opponent accepts getting 'stomped' like a good sport saying something along the lines of, "heh, yeah you DID get me good dude." 3-1: Acknowledgement that they got some good hits in, but you're still playing it off that you did beat them (noteworthily that arm lock that reminds me of brothers rough-housing after a competition) 3-2: both opponents are tuckered and hyped from the repeated loses, ending in the one who won reasserting his victory. Possible poor sportsmanship asside, that tie breaking match, or going from no victories to 3 in a row... i'd totally do the same victory animations out of pure hype lol.

I love these animations I love the feeling of triumph when you barely beat your opponent (3-2) And when you whoop your opponents butt, you don’t rub it in. Losing 0-3 feels terrible but these animations make it sting way less and encourage me to keep playing on

Like a makes a lot of sense like if your neck and neck the entire battle you're going to be excited when you win but if like they're kind of bad and you win all three rounds or you win most of the rounds you're going to be more polite to them
