I wish someone would do an animation showing what really happened to the Grand staircase ripping out and floating up through the dome because that's what happened during James Cameron's Titanic movie he built an exact replica of the grand staircase and after the dome collapsed in with water the grand staircase came totally off of its foundation floating upwards I think that'll be cool if someone did an animation showing that.. Just a thought... Cool video though

This is good, especially because it shows all six levels of the staircase, from E deck to the Boat Deck. Often all the attention goes to the D deck Reception Room then straight to A deck.

That was the service passage known as “Scotland Road” which ran nearly the length of the ship on the lower decks. The open door to the right lead to the main staircase and provided easy access to the boat deck for third class passengers, but it seems that language barriers and the nondescript appearance of the door deterred many from trying that as a way to escape above.

I managed to keep my tears in check up until the music began: Nearer My God To Thee, as everyone knows, was the hymn accompanying the musicians and I will never forget the haunting last words of one of them saying "It was a privilege performing here with you tonight" started the waterworks and I cried like a baby. I'm so vulnerable to things like that---a big baby. ;)

Sinking with a ship is scarier than sinking alone, finding escape routes to last breath is bloody horrific imagine you find one and it's locked that leaves you with one last chance if you can swim underwater to a door that is open. Its too dangerous to experience without lights and so many other factors on the way such as electric shocks

If they had cell phones back in the day you will see video of the titanic flooding inside. Plus it’s always entertaining to watch this flooding going on inside the ship but if you were to do that at that time chances are you won’t be able to reach the lifeboat let alone if you’re a man you have a slim chance of making it in the lifeboats because they required women and children first.
