The sole plate is finished and the main bearings are started. When I have help from other channels I will always show them / @steamingandy

you do like to frighten me don't you, A big drill. a small casting, only 2 clamps with small cockeyed t nuts. I was gritting my teeth, but hats off to you it turned out ok. well done👍

You are doing alright dude drilling speed looked a little high for cast iron ,could be the camera . Andy is right for drilling boring bushes it's called line boring guys..

After you bore the bearings use the faceplate setup to drill the bottom hole for the vacuum pump, it’s easy to forget it, guess how I know.

Quick tip for setting up, once the faceplate is set use a piece of 9/16” bar in the quill and in the bearing slots to vertically align the casting while you clamp it, then all you need to set is 1/4” from the bottom of the slots, cheating but it works

Cutting forces much less with the boring head. 3/4" is a little scary on that small mill.
