Lil sis Titer & Rebeca, y'all voices are beautiful. I am so proud of you both for being involved in the Karen communities despite growing and being more familiar with the US's identity. And I understand where you both coming from. Growing up in a foreign country and not getting the chance to learn your own language and culture is unfortunate but don't feel bad about it! It's not your fault that we don't have a country, it's not your fault that we have to blend into a country, it's not your fault that English becomes your main language. We are born k'nyaw but culturally and linguistically speaking, we are mix & that will become our identities. Embrace it! Having mix identities will get you to places and be more open minded. We are indeed beyond blessed. I know it might be hard to believe right now but in hindsight, it won't.

My little sister she was born and raise In America and she can speak Karen very well .. I think it’s have to do with you want to learn speaking you own language or not . Does not matter how long you been in other countries just saying no hate

People can learn things differently and at different paces. They can speak Karen, but not as fluent. They should not be criticized since they are still very young. I will take the criticisms instead 😉. They will learn. It takes time 💪.

Nothing is wrong with her. She is still a kid. She is new to interviews. She is still learning and of course there are times where kids are anxious during their first few interviews. Everyone has their own ways of coping with intense feelings. Even old people like us are nervous sometimes when we do something for the first time (and I am sure we all have our own habits just like Rebeca does). Let us encourage each other and give others space to feel shy or nervous instead of telling them to not be shy. Let us help encourage next generation to learn and grow instead. Thanks 😊.

You will understand if you came here as a very little when you live in united state every where you go all you can hear it’s people speak English and less Karen that’s why many Karen people who came in us as a little can barely speak they own languages so understanding that!
