We had this issue. Spent 10 years in court and another case started when I was in class 1, ended when i had started working and had my own car, had flown out of the country. We won both cases. This case was straight forward, we had the title from my great-grandfather, transferred to my grandfather, then His kids including my father. The new guys had a 2004 title against a 1975 title..But the courts are just full of low minded people. Kesi kama hii should never go past a year.

Honestly I'm advising any young people with skills (or the willingness to learn some) to leave and try their luck elsewhere. There's nothing for ordinary, honest hardworking people here, and worse still - there's no political or judicial will to do better and fix things for future generations.

@@user-kpkxgtj we hear you but that's so sad, considering the options are to go deal with systemic racism in eurocentric lands & to have your academic achievement discredited. The revolution (con) of 2002 "yote yawezekana" never materialized

@@rydergoode6922 which is the lesser evil - having people disrespect you because of the colour of your skin, or having your own people use lands officials, the police and judiciary to literally steal from you and leave you destitute while hiding in the shadows? The rot at the land's office is mind-blowing. And since titles are even used as collateral in banks. The exposure of what is going on can have very far-reaching repercussions for the economy. Land is fixed in place so it's not difficult to authenticate but there is no willingness to do so. I am also waiting to hear about the famous NDUNGU Report. Why has it never been implemented? Chances are it will touch the same people we expect to implement it. It's very disturbing and if indeed even a reputable SACCO having done full and extensive due diligence can find itself in this position what about individuals buying land? It shows that the pot is about to boil over and spew its contents. Best beware!

To Africa Uncensored, thank you for this great job. Thank you putting faces to all of us who have experienced the injustices around corruption and land issues in this country. We are too many to count. As Kenyans we are called to support our country, do right by our country but we have a country that has little regard and/or does not prioritize doing right by it's people. More can be done such as reforms, yet nothing is done! I listened to the mother share her narrative and it touched a nerve as my mother was put through the same thing. All these are people worked hard, focused on playing by the rules and still got eaten up by the system. You retire and then this? As the gentleman so aptly put, this is our home and yet years after colonization we have the same injustices, now just by and against our own. The trauma that we carry as a people...

Why do Kenyans always blame the “government” when dealing with issues like this? By blaming the “government” you are making the issue bigger than it is and you therefore become helpless as you cannot fight the “government”. These are individuals with strategic positions colluding with criminals. The individuals have signed fake documents and work under supervisors and bosses. Let’s hold their bosses responsible! Put their bosses names on your reports as they have failed us too all the way to the Minister of lands. For example CK Ngetich whose name has appeared on several forged document works in Land Registry under the acting chief David Nyandoro. Mr David should be held accountable to explain. He is either not doing his job in supervising his juniors or he is part of the scheme!

Someone is looking for small plot to raise a family and the come with huge sums of money and take over public lands. This is complete luck of governance, no wonder Kenya is regarded as just another failed state not due to insecurity but corruption and lack of governance.

Govt must put it's act together. Digitize everything and put on open web where everyone can access. Access land transaction history and ongoing transactions. We need consequences for such actions because it's never gonna stop. Ardhi house need some serious overhaul. We just can't have the same stories over and over, year in, year out. This trickles down to the economy and the government needs to understand this. Who's gonna purchase land in Kenya when land is shrouded in uncertainty and mystery. Taxes are lost, growth stops, jobs are lost, properties are destroyed and here we are. How do we solve this? Is digitizing the records the way to go? Should property developers and/or sellers be fully registered under special laws governing land? Do we need to fully automate Ardhi house and eliminate the employees completely? Should we form a special investigation unit under Ardhi house to deal with land matters? How do we deal with corruption in the land courts? Should we equate land grabbing/corruption to terrorism and serving life in prison or death be the way to go? We need to address land issues in this country before it gets out of hand. Why has the ndung'u report not been actualized? Some things are just sad.

Totally egoistical behaviour which is so far from what I know from my own country. I grew up, and the majority in my country does the same, with a sense of trust in our institutions. All I learned in Kenya was that institutions like police and law courts are dysfunctional and totally untrustworthy. First it made me sad, then angry and now I no longer care. You want to mess up your country and be seen as a shtjoke country, then so be it. But Kenya is still a beautiful country which could have been a paradise on earth.
