I faced this problem,my in laws are well educated,my father in law is dr and MIL is teacher. But even after being educated they wanted me to forget my responsibilities towards my own parents. I fought back, they always instigated the fights whenever I wanted to visit my parents stating you should now forget that home. But I also stood up for myself , fought with each and every1 including my husband, if a son can take care of his parents and if he is not being questioned then why can't a woman take care of her parents? Very good topic. Unfortunately in India people do not learn from such movies.

This is a beautiful story..... I can speak for myself..... I am a working woman who is married...... I am an only child of my parents...... Hence I need to take care of them...... Because they are old and have no one else in this world........ I am really grateful to my husband and my in laws who have never raised any objection on this..... Especially my husband who is as good as their own son....... Every family should understand this that a girl has to take care of her parents and family even after marriage..... If we can accept this then woman will get the same respect as nen and there will be no female foeticide

Bcoz in India every parents want their boy child to be the future *ATM MACHINE* , parents put too much financial pressure on boys, and gals have the choices whether to do household works or to do jobs but boys don't have the choices he must have to be the breadwinner for sake of his family members and if he failed to do so then parents n society will judge him as NAMARD NIKAMMA, now can u tolerate this judgement? a man is always judge by his income, he is treated as Bank not as Human Being and that's the reason suicide ratio of married men is much more than married women in India .

@@moMdaD-fm3ng While I do agree with you that males do not have choices if they wish to be a house husband or not work...I don't agree that girls have choices ?? Why..1. No body invests in their higher Education 2. Dowry - the same parents who consider their boy to be ATM ..cash on that ATM machine by asking for anywhere between 10-30-50 lakh easily. You are just seeing one side of the issue. Females have to work..even when they are bleeding every month. Do work both outside and household...when they are carrying a child. Because in India when both the spouses are working...after they come home...the lady goes to the kitchen while the guy goes to the bedroom to rest. Obviously, this does not apply to everyone but a majority of middle class and upper middle class.

I am a doctor, a government official but I can't buy 500 rs kurta for my mom. Who stops me?? my husband??? Never....it's my own mother 'tumhare paiso ka lenge, pagal ho gai ho, apne SaaS sasur ko do jo dena hai'...I mean why ???? Why I can't gift anything to them. Even if I will give some gift , they will make sure to give more money as 'Shagun'. Why ????

I dont agree with her.. whether you are son or daughter, YOUR MONEY DOES NOT BELONG TO YOUR PARENTS... your parents hv no rights on it too... You decide who to give based on what matters most to you, judging what's best for the situation...
