UW aint a racehorse. They are a ball control team that uses the pass instead of the run. They’ll get a 40 yard completion and still take 5 minutes off the clock. For all the rushing Texas did…..UW dominated TOP, forced 5 punts and 2 more fumbles while play 2 high and quarter coverage most of the game. UW’s Pass defense allows 6.6 YPA having played the #2(2x) #4, #5, #8, and #17 passing offenses with their 1/2 safeties and CB2 injured most of the year. UM pass defense allows 5.7 YPA with #21 and #30 being the only passing offenses they’ve played in the top 50. Those 2 teams passed for their average amount of yards per game by the way (which would be almost 350 for UW) UW’s rush defense slowed down Oregon once and near stopped them cold the second time, shut Utah out in the 2nd half, and slowed OSU….despite dealing with injuries to their DT 1/2 who are now healthy. UW’s defense averages 7 stops a game. People don’t realize that UW’s defense is way better than it gets credit. Is it top 10? No, but with guys back from injury its top 25. That won’t fully show up in the stats but you can see allusions to it if you know what to look for. They also force 1.8 turnovers a game since week 10. They had a ton of forced fumbles but none bounced their way till week 10. Trice is averaging 9 pressures a game over the last 6 games. JJ is not the best QB this defense has played. They have played 4 teams that rushed for more yards than Michigan. Michigan gets stopped on average 5 times a game. They just don’t play offenses good enough to put up points. I could go on and on about this but I don’t want people to get the wrong idea. UM is a great team. You don’t get to 14-0 without being one. I just think UW is better. I expect UM to score in the Mid 20’s and UW to score in the low 30’s. If Maryland and tOSU can put up 24 and this horrid Bama offense can put up 20…..how is UW scoring less than 30? It should be a good game and there is no doubt, regardless of the outcome that these are the top 2 teams this year.

How many Michigan games have you watched? The starters didn’t play in the 4th quarter at all and barely in the second half for 3/4 of the season. That scews Jj’s and our overall offensive stats.

But let me present some passing defense stats when comparing these teams: Passing offenses played in the the top 50: UW: #2, 2, 4, 5, 8, 17, 51 YPA allowed: 6.99 Teams' season YPA: 8.8 UM: #21, 30 Total YPA allowed: 8.5 Teams' season YPA: 8.17 UW's season YPA: 9.37 UM's season YPA: 8.96 If the averages translate: UW 9.75 YPA vs UM 37 x 9.75 = 363 yards UM 7.11 YPA vs UW 7.11 x 24 = 173 yards

Re-watch the highlights: TCU, w/about 9 min's left, turtled, stopped throwing & ran '4-min.' off. for about last 8:45 of that game (played not to lose). If u r familiar w/Sonny Dykes, normally, he would've kept throwing & adding another 7-10 points to UM's margin of defeat.

Michigan plays zone about 70% of the time. Not a man team. JJ threw for 343 yds and 2 tuds vs TCU but had a couple costly mistakes. He threw for 225 and 3 tuds vs Bama. They are not hiding him. They take what the d gives them - pause.

UM defense stats are padded by beating up 8 of the worst offensive teams of ALL 133(99 or worse) teams. with the 6 other games, UM drops to 20th. OSU, Bama, moved the ball OK. and UW is light years better..

Teams are letting wash receivers run free release. Now you have corner or safety in footrace that wash win. Expect mich to jam their receivers in zone and man not allowing free releases. Wash offense will struggle if mich db press cover. In zone and man schemes.

Pretty dumb opinions by these 3 guys. Michigan has the best defense in college ball. Texas ran all over them the whole game. Michigans pass defense is ranked number 2 right now. Two AAs in our secondary. TJ usually is better prepared. They never mention Texas has probably the worst secondary in college.

If they cant get to penix in 3secs or less he will pick them apart. tougher schedule and the stats show it. SOR #1 and SOS#2 vs SOS 35th with 8 teams in the BOTTOM 34 of 133 teams! Washington’s defense isn’t trying to stop anybody. Pay attention and watch some games. They SLOW the offense and burn clock. They don’t try to prevent scoring, they manage how long it takes to score. The shorter the game the easier to win.

Yes UW has a great offence. the paper meets the turf on monday, in a dome. Their D-line vs our best in the country O-line, their pretty good DB's vs our great WRs and gunslinger. it will be a good game. the CFP finally got it right.

Stop using Total Offense and Total Defense as a measuring stick. Tempo and possessions have a ton to do with how many yards are gained in any given game

This is actually funny. "Don't know how Michigan is going to stop Washington's offense?".... how 'bout how is Washington going to move the ball on Michigan?! How soon they forget Alabama's first drive. Milroe couldn't throw because he had about .2 seconds before he got sacked by three guys. Penix, while great, will not look like the same player this week. Sainristil will get one, Johnsons gonna have a chance at a couple, and Moore will too. Look for Michigan to wear them down in the second half. Michigan 27-13. Penix should still be the top pick, but he isn't gonna have as much time to throw in this one like he did against Texas.
