Found a used, but in good shape, Tactical Tailor split front Rudder Rac at a surplus store. It was already set up with a three mag panel! New on Midway for $285.00. This used one was tagged at $12.95. Score!!! 😊👍

In the early 80s i did a couple years in the 1st Ranger Bn, we didn't have body armor. We had jungle fatigues/ boots, patrol caps, LCEs and a BIG ASS mountain ruck that was the weight of a large not so smart teenager. With our large brass balls and the ability to do things quietly, and violently at night we did quite well.

Man that's a lot of equipment for a give away.... I have been using a canvas tool bag to carry all my stuff around when I'm doing the things on my land and I always end up leaving my bag somewhere that I have to walk over to so I can get something. I hadn't thought of using the chest rig for a more utility set up.... This gives me a lot of ideas!

HOLY BALLS !!!! Bear, that is legit. We are semi-stacked (always holes to fill) but this is a well put-together rig. People may (even I have) called you out as arrogant from time to time but you are a genuine, zero BS good guy (keep it up). I signed up for your Patreon a few months back, definitely worth it.

If you wanted to camouflage it. Hobby lobby or Michael's has fabric dye in spray bottles. I used lime green, black, and brown. The lime green combined with the FDE turned it into a good green for camo. Then you wash it and dry it in high heat for the dye to set. Then I hit it here and there with spray paint camo colors. Turned out good for the type of environment you are in.

Condor gear isn’t bad at all and it’s a good way to get a cheap, functional set of everything you need while to save for the better gear. As for body armor, it’s not for everyone but keep in mind nobody is trying to ban chest rigs, body armor is on the list of things to ban, so just something to consider now while it’s available.

A few months back I helped host a range day for a faith based scout troop named trail life. We had a selection of handguns and rifles. My 12yo son stepped up to the line and started shooting my sr22 when he got to experience an out of battery detonation. There was little more than a puff of smoke out of the chamber but the magazine was destroyed and the trigger mechanism no longer works. It was most likely very dirty but I’ve lost faith in the pistol. Hope you have better luck with yours. Great video!

Good set up i have 3 vest's all good will definitely stop boom booms got good combat capabilities... I just need to work on my medical stuff.. my wound packing gauze etc etc.... One thing I got to say is that bear is definitely the man his heart for people and the Lord is unmatched..... A lot of people talk to talk but grindstone ministries Walk The Walk.....

Good set up Bear! I'm glad you brought up carrying a multitool! I've carried one for years! During my public safety days I had one on all of my gear (turnout gear, dive gear, SWAT gear, and on my duty belt) I started with Gerber but got tired of getting my hands pinched even the the one handed deploy is great! I've moved and now prefer SOGs multitool but its individual preference

Lost 30 pounds of fat and muscle trying to figure out a rig/ruck system over the last six months, trying to regain the muscle. Good to work out all your straps and work that out now so your not dealing with that pain when the ball drops and everybody’s pooping themselves for the first time. Good stuff, thank you Bear.

Same as a work belt and pouches for say framing, form setting, don't overload, lots of straps can be good, usually gotta learn thru experience, is best teacher, nice job BEAR

I run that exact Suunto compass, with whistle and Ranger Beads attached to it in my Signal/Navigation Kit Insidey Ruck. It's a solid option, I also keep a Rite in the Rain pad, pencil and pen, orange bandana, headlamp, Baofeng UV5R, and a map of my AO.

Plate carriers are nice when you're moving cover to cover, but when you're in open country, like North Dakota (seriously, there's like 3 trees up here) mobility is the key!

My current chest rig is 13 pounds dry, but also has a 3L bladder with inline filter. Im also in Florida so water is pretty important. Ive also shoved stuff off my chest rig into my EDC. So im still running around 21 pounds total and i need to trim stuff.

I got a surplus TAP - tactical assault panel - chest rig with Condor saw pouches that has molle straps on the sides of the pouch to attach whatever like extra tourniquets or smoke grenades. One saw pouch on the left and right and a surplus Molle II butt pack front and center as a dangler pouch Very simple set up, gonna add a blowout kit, 2x grenade pouches one for a headlamp and one for rolled up nitrile gloves, and maybe a triple rifle mag shingle on the left and right under the saw pouches

I have one of them front facing flashlights and never thought of putting it on my rig. Thanks for the idea. Mine has 6 pouches that can hold 12 stripper clips. Which is all I run. Better than nothing

I used a Blackhawk rhodesian style chest rig for years in combat. It held 4 rifle and 2 pistol mags. Super badic. Super comfy. Super reliable. Super cheap

I ordered a voodoo tactical AK chest rig, Rhodesian style more or less. I have both an AK and an AR so the mags will fit. My thinking is I want something light but useful. Later I will get a plate carrier with ceramics but I can't afford it right now. I needed something to be able to put on, grab my rifle and go. I'm new to all of this, at 45 years old, so I have some catching up to do.

I was in that period where I wore both as well. Straddling the gunnels of a zodiac ship to shore through rough surf; yeah, LBE all day long😝. I pulled my LBE and my chest rig it this week; found my self thinking more about the LBE than the chest rig, for what ever "ops" greybearded ass might find myself in.

I run the VelSys gen4 chest rig as well. I really like it. Haley d3crx would also be good, it’s very similar. I put a 3 mag kangaroo pouch in the map pocket on my velsys. I had it in a bin and it fit perfectly. So I can bump up 7 mags, which is a nice option, or ditch the 3 and collapse the pouch. Running a SOG tool, surefire fury, baofeng, garmin rhino, phone, and med in pockets.
