In today's video we talk about a customer who purchased a last call ScatPack swinger 8 Months ago. He brought it back to the same dealer to see what it was worth, after being told these were investments and would go up in value the customer is told they would offer him under 40k after he paid 81k only 8 months ago.
I feel bad for anyone that got scammed on the last call nonsense.
Let's discuss this in the comments.

Got to admit, dodge lovers are loyal. These cars have looked the same for so many years, I can't even remember, you'll get excited over 4 fender flares and a scoop. This to me, is total devotion. I'm not here trying to put dodge down, I'm not. There are so many fans. My problem, they want alot of money, for something I see, everytime I turn my head, there's a challenger, there's a charger. They basically ask corvette prices, and to me, I prefer a full package. But one thing is for sure, straight line, by a dodge.

Ive got a 2010 srt, put a supercharger on it and love it. Bought it because it looks like the muscle cars I fell in love with growing up. I don’t want the looks to change every year, hell I just want the “charger” to look like a 68-70 charger like it should have. Its fun to drive, turns heads and I’ve blown the doors off all the cars my friends have. Got lots of open road, so straight line fun all the way. If you live in a city and need constant turning I can see going other ways but stop light to stoplight and 1/4 mile I think we have more fun than a lot of other guys brand.

That depreciation is actually typical on a new car. Especially these really late model software cars loaded with spy devices, driver interference systems, and WiFi. NO late model is going to hold it's value. If he had bought a '70-'74 Challenger, it would still be worth at least as much as he paid for it. That's also where the insurance issues come up. Had that car been totaled in an accident, what the stealer dealer offered him for it is probably what an insurance company would have offered him for it. These things simply have no lasting value, and unlike '70s and earlier cars that also depreciated when new, the new ones will likely never have any value. People are simply not going to invest a large amount of money in a computer. To have value, something must be desirable, and these things aren't. Now that he has thrown his money away on it, he would be better off just keeping it and driving it for as long as he can keep it going. He now has a $32,000 car, and it will continue to depreciate. But so will ANY new vehicle he could trade it in on, and the depreciation would start from the top again.

Car show guy: “ yeah, this was one of 10,000 built on a Friday during second shift, with this specific paint code and interior color.” “Rumor has it that only 9,930 are still on the road today.” It’s a mass produced vehicle. Just drive it and enjoy. I’ve got several classics and muscle cars. I drive them all cause that’s what they are built to do. What makes it more fun is that my kids come along too, and those are the true one offs

Bought 19 Redeye in late 19 for 69,700.. sold it for a ZL1 in April of 2022.. Got $71k for the Redeye with 18k miles, I only had to come out of pocket under $3k for the trade after tax ect.. After 3 years of beating the shit out of that car.. It just got boring to drive, as neither is my daily, but the HC RE is powerful, but you get used to it and it just looks like regular traffic and doesn't feel special.. The Zl1 on the other hand feels like a race car, handles like its on rails, and is 100% more fun for a weekend ripper.. After you take all your friends and family on a ride in a HC, it just feels like a big gas & tire destroying normal car..

The buyer side of market always controls used car prices. You can't buy a new car and in 2-3 years demand collector car prices. You have to wait about 20-25 years.

They charge Jaguar/Land Rover prices for what should be fun cars for middle class enthusiasts. Yet I hear their service is far below that of Jaguar/Land Rover dealers. And now resell value is dropping like a lead zeppelin, and quality is crap! Smh.

All those "Special Edition" Scats were nothing but a sticker package. I get that they were considered limited and therefore worth a markup but not 81k. I paid near MSRP on my loaded 2022 Scat and I knew going in that it would depreciate but I bought it to drive, not become a garage queen. Tough luck, fellas.

Yup beeen watching depreciation values for years now. My vehicles have lost over half their value throughout the years. I tried to trade in my vehicles all they wanted to offer was a kick in the ballls for both my vehicles and drove off the lot with my investments i already own, no payments, and the dealers are crooks. Those kick the the balls they gave me will assured i wont buy new unless i win some big money because the new vehicles aint worth what they wanna charge. Ive walked out of more dealerships then i can count.

Wide body scat pack swinger as optioned on the dodge website is 67,930. Between the markup, doc fees and tax I can see how the owner is so underwater

Why would any adult believe any new car will appreciate in value? I had not purchased a preowned car since the 70’s. I wanted a Jeep Wrangler just to have fun with it. I shopped new Wranglers decided they were grossly overpriced. I found a preowned Wrangler in like new condition inside and out. Previous original owner was 58 years old. I bought it and saved approximately $23,000 verses buying the same trim level Wrangler new.

I just picked up a used las call RT Plus, handling package, HK stereo, and more with 2500 miles for 40% off the MSRP. Looks like the one in TK's intro, but not a scat. Dealer near me has a WB Scat just like the one described for $50k. Low mileage used is where it's at peeps.

I got an 18 srt with 5000 miles for 40k. Had for 2 years now. Worth every penny. But I bought mine to actually drive it I have no intention of trying to make an investment or profit of this thing. It's a car. And all cars are nothing but money pits.

Stupid is as stupid does… A fool and his money are soon parted… I could keep going on but I think you get the point. I'm sure he's a nice guy but that dealer saw this guy coming a mile away and he allowed them to take advantage of him.

So now we're suing dealers because you paid some ridiculous markup for a wide body, last call, Challenger ScatPack that's really a poorly made Challenger? If you folks bought these thinking they were an investment you were not thinking clearly. TK feels sorry for the guy? Why? The depreciation value is based on the MSRP not the markup sale price of $81k. He was in the hole as soon as he signed the paperwork. Now he wants to trade it in after 8 months. You would lose money on any car even if you paid MSRP after 8 months. I agree this dealer is low balling the guy something awful, but the owner should have used some common sense prior to making the purchase. The only smart move would be to fix the car and keep it.

I wonder what ridiculous amount they would offer us for our 2021 Challenger R/T Scat Pack Widebody Shaker that MSRP $60,519. Which happens to be a one of one with specific optional equipment in the assembly sequenced in 2021. Which could possibly make it more valuable in 70 years when we are no longer around. Our local credit union appraised it for $48,000 after getting a $24,000 loan from the equity. I don’t even think they would give someone MSRP much less invoice after they’ve paid $10,000 or $20,000 above MSRP. Even if someone’s vehicle has less than 2500 miles. Pretty much anyone that paid above MSRP is upside down.
