one of the best arpgs when you just want to blast. cant wait for season start

Torchlight Infinite finally seems like it's less clunky in the new season. I remember when I played at launch and in season 1 and 2, and the trait deck rotating stuff was really awkward and didn't feel natural. I'm glad this is being changed to a totally different system. The itemization in past seasons was also really poor - you basically found junk on the ground all the time... junk rares and junk legendaries. The same crap legendaries would drop all the time when killing bosses and mapping. I remember I farmed all the way to Timemark 7, and I barely found anything rare or useful to my character but currency, and I had so many dozens of hours to my playtime. The only way to get better gear was to farm currency and craft items or buy stuff at the trade house. I really appreciate that the game is much more SSF friendly and that the dopamine hits of finding something useful should happen a lot more frequently now. Crafting is all well and good, but finding items is fun and that was a big problem with past versions. I also like that the legendaries can be made to be more useful. When you start mapping, all you really want is resists. I would basically avoid using legendary items because unequipping rares was actually detrimental in those early seasons. It was only people really deep into the endgame that could afford to equip legendary items because they had high tier resistance rolls on a few pieces of gear to make it work, but this option was not available to players during their mapping journey. Finally, I can just put resists on legendary items, which should make the game more fun. This reminds me a lot of Diablo 3. While I can appreciate people who want an end-game use for rares, I kind of don't care personally. The more you make me look through all the rares that drop, the more the game wastes my time, to be frank. I'd rather have the game call out legendaries and other important drops to me with different colors so I can just auto-salvage rares. The color-coding is really important to save time. That's why I liked Diablo 3 in many ways - you didn't have to spend 30 minutes going through your inventory just to find one rare that was good. You could just auto-salvage them and look at the legendaries.

Hope it's good. Wish I could get into TL. Don't know what it is but it just doesn't gel with me. Played 5k hours of POE, played LE etc. but something about this game just doesn't click with me.

After your review i decided to give the game a try. Sadly after reaching endgame I realized, that TLI is in fact more pay to win than I expected. I don't mind having to play more to gain the benefits, people get by paying for them. However many very necessary account features are locked behind a paywall. And there is no way to earn the currency (Primocryst) by playing. Even the lesser variant, the Jagged Primocryst can only be earned in a finite way/amount. Otherwise it's a very enjoyable game, wish it was simply pay to play.

Palsteron are you planning to play the new season? And if so what build are you planning to play?

So this looked interesting so I fired it up again and to my surprise they still haven't done anything to make the game work very good on controller so it got instantly closed and uninstalled again. Guess it's back to the Poe waiting room
