Sat in this aircraft at sun and fun 2021. Very nice for a 6'1 guy like myself. They are out of Charleston SC and you can schedule a test flight of their airplanes.

Man, all great points. Still out of most people's price range. I have an excellent job as a pilot and I can't justify a 2nd house in cost for this plane. It's impossible to find something lightweight and fast for an affordable price.

@ $265,000 only 1,100 miles, not sitting side by side. RV14 less than half the price, 1,400 NM, sits side by side. I would only consider it if cabin is pressurized and ceiling at like 20,000 + at this price level.

Yeah, the price is high. I prefer tandem. RV14 is a good choice. I think I'd go with a pre owned Harmon Rocket.

Europe is kicking butt and putting out amazing planes. In the US Piper just put a nose wheel in the Cub and Cessna just built a copy of the Twin Otter. The 1950’s is strong in the US

We could compete here in the states of we could ever get around the stranglehold the FAA have on the industry. They dont have nearly the restrictions over there to development we do. Plus the extreme costs of any kind of certification makes anything new almost not worth doing here. If you could get the cost of a basic 4 seat down to 40k to 60k, ready to fly, if the design was good it would dominate. Why? Normal people would see that as within reach financially without having to build for 2 or 3 years to achieve it.

Very cool plane but just like the ICON the customers start falling away when the price goes up. Was very interested when it was under $200K (last SnF 2 years ago). Now $265 - $295, for an experimental category plane? Good for Europe where it is actually categorized as an ultralight (LSA equivalent)

$265,000-$290,000 how? its built in a second world country. Oh I know, most of these import sales companies like to recoup all of their costs and then some. So while the aircraft might cost only $150,000 after shipping(maybe $10K), import tax(7-15%) , and last mile delivery - it seems as if our host here is turning at least a $50,000 profit per airframe. The Czechs got their money on the front end when the plane was initially ordered.

This is why general aviation is dying. One of the whole reasons people started plans building amd kit aircraft building was to get get away from the outrageous costs of certified aircraft. Theres a 4 seat (6 if two are smaller) kit that can carry 4, 250 llb fat boys and 300lbs of cargo and only cruise 40 knots slower for the same range. And take off and land in 500 ft or less. For 70k!

A question: Why aren't weather radars in the single/dual engine 4-7 seaters like DA50/Sling TSI/SR22/DA62, especially outside North America? Garmin GWX75 costs ~$40K and works pretty well. Why aren't weather radars a must-have accessory?

Indeed boating is even worse from my side as you need lots of weight, crazy amount of fuel consumption, berthing and all the engine and body maintenance. That said, what's your take on the future electric planes once we get 500 miles of range? From my reading, maintenance wise this would be heaven compared to now.

How would a guy 6’6” tall and 240 pounds do? I have to take my son in law with me, everyplace, I lost my medical. He will be the “pilot” he is 5’10” and 230 pounds. Are we stuck on the ground with dry tanks or are we flying open cockpit when I go along?

Experimental, so no ridiculous certification fees, its built in country that is known for cheap labor, its consists of way less parts than a automobile, its parts are manufactured with the same equipment used for automobiles, it's assembled using the same methods and Technics as they do for automobiles, and the slower model is almost a half a million dollars? How can anyone not think these company's are fucking you.

I just inquired with shark aero and they are working on a 915 version and the guy said they were thinking it will hit 400km/h, presumably at 9500feet. Their 912 version is 300kph top. So 195mph (314kph) doesn't sound that impressive with 154 horses. Shark aero starts at 200k euro
