Building the perfect camera rig requires balance, compactness, and functionality. All three key points must be met to have a successful rig. I believe I have found the perfect combination of parts to make Mirrorless Cameras ready for action whether you are a solo filmmaker or working with a team. Big thanks to ‪@SmallRigGlobal‬ ‪@PERGEAR‬ @Fotga ‪@zgcine‬ ‪@pdmovie_official2557‬ for making this video happen!

Building a well balanced flexible and working rig is an essential art in our craft! I have refined my rigs over the years and it is a great source of satisfaction!😎 👍🏾🙏🏾

Hey hey again Eugene! It really is an art! I've tried some peoples rigs and they were always so clunky and hard to wield. The only thing I would change about this rig would require some custom manufacturing to streamline the economics of the right handle. And a new style of base on the bottom so my left hand can hold the rails more comfortably while being close enough to the lens to manually pull focus with my fingers if the situation arrises.

What a great video. Do you have any ideas about a gimble adapted rig for a DVX 200? Using it for documentary
@TLDR_filmmaker
@TLDR_filmmaker Жыл бұрын
Hey hey again L'ORAGE! I'm not too sure about a gimbal adapted rig for a DVX200. I'd feel you would have to either get a full size gimbal like the Crane 3 or resort to using a steadicam.

Bravo!🏆 After building this rig, can I still get to my SD Memory Card? (accessible from bottom of my Canon M50 camera)
@TLDR_filmmaker
@TLDR_filmmaker 11 ай бұрын
Hey hey Lovemauihawaii! If the SD card is at the bottom of the camera, then you'll most likely have to slide the camera portion out from the quick release plate so that you can get to the card :(

Im looking for an L bracket for my rig that is small like 1 screwhole at the bottom and one at the side i dont know if this even exists or not , is there such a thing?
@TLDR_filmmaker
@TLDR_filmmaker 10 ай бұрын
I don't think so because I feel L-brackets are usually just for the bare body instead of an already rigged body. What are you wishing to accomplish with an L-bracket in your setup?

@@TLDR_filmmaker i would like to put a record button on the side of my handle but it only has screwholes on the top.

This might be one of those times where you'll have to get very DIY. Either glue the lanc REC button to a L bracket handle or you will have to drill into it and insert your own 3/8 to 1/4 adapter to create your own mounting spot.

you are gonna lose by having a DSLR./mirrorless. wires stiking out the side - horrid. that side handle - horrid - hold the camera with the right hand to change the settings. no wat to change balance when using a different lens? no way to look in the evf when it is too sunny to see the monitor. rig might work on some sets but not on a day moving in and out.
@TLDR_filmmaker
@TLDR_filmmaker Жыл бұрын
Hey hey again Sam! I agree that mirrorless cameras with the ports on the sides are not as ideal compared to a cine cam. As for the right handle being there instead of just gripping the body. When you are doing action sequences handheld, there is a chance you will bump a setting on the control wheels. So I used this right handle to negate the chance of that happening. We also tend to go handheld at very low ground angles. The right handle being able to rotate saves our wrists while still being able to pull focus. EVF's i've never quite liked coming from the cameras. They worked in a pinch but we couldn't count on them for action sequences. Upgrading from a 500 nits monitor to a 2500 nits monitor works quite well even with the sun. I'm surprised how we even managed to get focus with the 500 nits monitors back in the day.
@sammorganmoore
@sammorganmoore Жыл бұрын
@@TLDR_filmmaker Everything you say makes good sense. Clearly there is not a 'perfect rig' as I want my hand on the controls, and want to look into the hole when it is sunny and really I dont want any vulnerable leads.

I have a manual focus zcam (as well as my R6 and C200) and am most likely to build and use that camera in a manner similar to your description. With the R6 im poking the srceen or using the joystick to get focus and need to be intimate with the buttons.

Hey hey again Sam! Oh man I definitely broken record that word didn't I. Definitely didn't catch that when I was doing the Voice overs and editing it all together. Will pay attention for it next time. I definitely like to use the words "now" and "actually" when trying to make notice a point I want someone to catch.
