Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but in the video you say the trial is 2 months premium, but in fact it's 2 weeks when you follow the link.

Great video again boss, really well done - great to see your progression as a vlogger! Couple of potential future questions 1) If you had the option of growing up in any country as an aspiring racer, where would you pick? Or to ask another way - do you think being a young racer in the UK has held you back at all 2) if someone wanted to get coaching from you or your dad, how would you arrange that? Is it invite only?

Taylor, There used to be an annual Charity event called 'Riders for Health' (i think, it was the day before the GP weekend, or Transatlantic Challenges). One year (very early 90's) i attended it with my girlfriend (who later became my wife) As we were walking through the Donnington open-paddock area, in front of the garages, your Dad suddenly popped up from his chair, rushed out at full speed, and said to me, "Do you want to take a picture of me, with your girlfriend?' And grabbed her round her middle . . . . . beaming a big smile She was blonde, curvy and pretty and he seemed *VERY* pleased to want to put his arm around her - then, he said something we laughed at later . . . . . . He was wearing some VERY clean, BRAND-NEW, ridiculous, all white leathers from 'Nixe' (from around the RGV500 period - they were expensive in their day) and said, as he pulled her close into him, and looked UP to her, "Don't get any of that drippy strawberry Ice-Cream on my new leathers" . . . ha ha ha ha, THERE'S SOMETHING YOU DON'T HEAR EVERY DAY! He was so proud, and wanted to remain immaculate & photogenic Still got that picture somewhere - I wish i could send it to you Great Lad Niall - If you've still got that Leather-Suit - i hope its still clean and 'Strawberry-Free' . . . . and up to 'Mack' standard :-) (BTW - The then girlfriend, turned wife is now very much an *'Ex'* in all aspects . . . . . and, i don't think you'd want to go out of your way, to 'grab' her anymore -yikes ! ha ha ha ha )

Love the chats , all very interesting. Talking of arm pump , injuries and accidents, do you think that the development and evolution of bikes is now too much for the riders bodies to withstand? Do they need to think about starting to limit engine power , braking power, grip etc so a riders body can with stand it ?. As time goes on, if development continues, people won’t be able to with stand the forces through the bodies without constantly having surgery! Intrestingly , I have just been hearing Mx guru Ryan Hughs, saying that 450’s are now too fast even for the pro riders!!!

Also, did the fastest no2 qualifier get an upgrade for race? I seem to be recalling this, If true it must have been murder with bike set up? Question: with the introduction of more electronics and telemetry how valuable do you find telemetry in improving your riding for beginners through to riders starting to get ready for racing?
@tmac77
@tmac77 3 жыл бұрын

@@tmac77 I built my own data logger, with Throttle position, brake position, rpm, gps - the most striking thing for me was realizing I wasn't opening the throttle fully, almost at all apart from on really long straights, also the time between throttle close and being on the brakes I was doing a lot of coasting up to the brake zone. I find it fascinating as an engineer it helps my brain work out that what I think is happening is in fact not quite the full picture. Before looking at the data I would of told you I had the throttle pinned fully whenever possible - in reality though ....

Niall, back in 1997 history lists you had your most wins on the Kawasaki, what was it about that year and that bike that did it for you during that season? Good work guys, intresting as always.

Excellent. Love these but they end too quick. I'd love to see the alternative universe where the security didn't spot the plane. Its date would probably be commemorated in MCN every 10 years or so... 😅 😬

Armpump: I had some discussions about Armpump recently. I am curious if this syndrome really is something that only just occurs in that extreme numbers. Or do only some motorbike riders have bad luck and that's it. Even in lower classes like moto2 or WSSP there are riders suffering from AP... Maybe it's just the media that jump on that topic? Or is the number really increasing?

There will be more to come, they just take quite a bit longer than my other videos to make so I have to have a lot of spare time to do them😂 but don’t panic, there’s one being planned!

Maybe the Michilen tyres are crap and slipping and bouncing everywhere causing arm pump because all the lads are tensing up to hang on to them.

I have one story going back to the Cadbury boost days I’m thinking 1998 ish a mate ours had his YZ750 painted in the boost colours and was a massive Nial McKenzie fan His bike had a engine problem so couldn’t make the trip to Silverstone and was very disappointed so we all chipped to get him a N.McKenzie T shirt we did start to queue to get you to sign it but the queue was quite long so we just opted for the T Once home I got my Wife who was also with us on the day to sign it to him from you He was so happy we had done this for him, and had the T shirt mounted in a frame, this still has pride of place in his hallway and still thinks we queued and was signed by you some 20 odd years ago PS he still has the bike too 😂😂😂

Haha that’s an amazing story! You definitely owe him an actual signed t-shirt I think!

@@tmac77 cheers I bet ya Dad laughed too 😂 our mate was really pissed off that we had all gone without him, we presented it to him in the pub later when we got back, he was choked up that we had got him the T shirt 😂😂we daren’t tell him it’s not a genuine signature especially after he got it mounted and all this time. Good luck this season, you never know I might queue up for a signed shirt All the best Terry
