If your talking about comic book artists, the unmasked face of Spidey is based off Todd Mcfarlane and Spidey is combo of Todd and Erik larsen. Bats is based off of Jim Lee he also drew X-men so maybe that's why you feel Bats and Wolvie look a like.

I like the look of this figure, it looks like it can photograph well, the articulation looks like you would expect from mafex but I just feel the quality isn't there when you take into consideration the price.. It is pretty common of the reviews I've seen so far that the paint slop seems consistently bad, the looseness of the joints is also very inconsistent, and I hate the cheap plastic they use throughout their figures.. And whats with that horrible stitching up from the line of the cape!? That certainly wasn't in the promos.. Mafex should be held accountable for these things and I was happy you pointed a lot of these things out. I think the black variant might be better as the black will hide some of those sins.. But these mafex figures overall are not worth the asking price for me. Thank for the review bro 🙏💚🔥🌈

This review really helped me make up my mind about this figure. That cape is horrendous. Also he look more like Neal Adams Batman with that lankier look. Jim Lee Batman is more hulking.

This figure is pretty cool, but comes up short for me. It could've been great. There are elements I like about it like Bruce Wayne's head sculpt, the shades of blue and gray they used, and the proportions, but everything you pointed out like the paint not matching on the foot, and the cape (etc.) makes me glad I cancelled my preorder on this. If this was around $35-40 USD, I'd be all over it. Mafex does seem to have improved, but still not there yet with the price point they're wanting for their figures. Articulation is nice, too. Very well done review!

I wish Bats was a tad bit taller than Marvel Legends Deadpool, but otherwise the articulation and sculpt are great. That said I agree Mafex is a bit overpriced.

Nice looking Batman but it doesn't blow me away and for a Mafex issue the accessories seem to be on the lean side and nothing too exciting about them otherwise imo. I like the size & design of the cape but the material appears to be pretty thin so not sure how that will hold up in the long run. I don't think the sculpt looks as good as the Amazing Yamaguchi Batman so that one is still #1 for me anyway. Thanks for the detail review & some great posing shots.

Yesssssssssssss Finally

Just got mines today. Didn’t get any time to play with it yet. I did take it out the box. I got it from ami ami in 2 1/2 days. Yeah fed ex sucks it took them 8 days from philly to Cleveland. I wish they would’ve gave us the gargoyle stand with this one too. Great video

Oh man, if this is your first Mafex then be very careful with it. 10:52 made me so scared for you because those wrist pegs have a tendency to break. Mafex is getting better with their QC but they still aren't that good.

I’ve got mine sitting in my warehouse on HLJ, been there 5 days now, didn’t even realize this was released yet until an hour ago so I did a search to see if anyone reviewed it and low and behold! Figure looks good glad it turned out like it did

Where to begin......the hand pegs are a bit fragile, if one isn't careful, you'll break it swapping hands. The end of the shorter grapple gun accessorie came off (broke actually) as I removed it from the gun ( was able to replace with a sturdier piece) swapped the normal head for the angry head and the up and down was lost ( was able to correct it) the front Cape wire is already poking thru the material, so I don't advise too much rearranging of it with bending required. Overall is the best Batman figure I own. Can't wait to get the black version.

Great review TMan. A lot of people are going to have buyer's remorse if McFarlane releases a Batman Hush series of figures. I don't think we'll see one this year, but next year maybe. They're killing it right now (Batman White Knight).

I think it's a pretty solid release that has shortcomings that should not exist considering the price point (more consistent paintjob, slightly improved cape)....BUT Mafex's gonna Mafex. Above everything else, I'm really happy they're doing DC characters based on famous looks/stories because that's what I always wanted to own. Movie figures are cool (even more so if the movie is great, which is not that frequent), but to me these are the "true" representation of the characters. I'd rank this Batman a hair below their Spiderman and above everything else.

There shouldn’t be a paint mistake that bad on his cowl/paint issues for $100+. I don’t care how nice it looks, the qc is horrible. I love the look but, it shouldn’t be 50/50 qc for the price.

Great review, thanks. Had the same minor gripes with mine, right knee sticks when fully extended, don’t like the stitching and back seam on the cape and it could use an extra wire. Still a cool release though, no remorse. Will say that the Mafex packaging is as misrepresentative as ever with this figure, the colors are way off by comparison, nowhere near as vibrant. Bugs me that they do that, Spiderman was way different as well, never sure exactly what you’ll get color-wise based on promo shots.

This looks SOOOO much better than that shitty McFarlane version. They use the same torso, but the McFarlane proportions are way off. This one is a must get!

Mafex is so damn close to having consistently good releases. They always seem to trip over their shoelaces right at the finish line. Obviously past mafex was riddled with qc (which they’ve improved on a bit) but with all these new releases every figure seems to have one big flaw or a few medium flaws that drive people away. Wolverine’s arms kept falling off on people’s figures. The claws looked weird. Cyclops’ belt was too short, making it ride way to high up on the figure, and he has weird proportions. People don’t like the size of Venom. Shazam’s arms are over-engineered and are limited. Iron Spider’s back legs would break as soon as you move them. People are already concerned with the size/thickness of gambits trench coat. Infinity war Thor, the knee gets stuck, limited articulation, and (for me) the cape wires pop out from the fabric and from under the neck plate. There’s even things with the comic Spider-Man (which I really recommend) that people don’t like. The waist piece is too tall and covers up the red belt detailing when you crunch the torso. People aren’t fond of the color choice. Shading is off from copy to copy. And the things you and other reviewers have mentioned about this very Batman figure. (Their mcu Spider-Man figures and Nolan trilogy figures seem to be outliers. From what I’ve seen those figures are really nice. I have homecoming Spider-Man and TDK Joker, and both are great.) Not all of these are dealbreakers. The comic Spider-Man is my favorite Spider-Man figure I have. But at 100 dollars a piece, little things like those will make people reconsider. If they were going for maybe 50-60 dollars, then I think medicom would be able to get away with a bit more. 100 dollars is a premium price, and we should get premium figures for that much.
