@@vansdan. I'm agnostic, Michael was very spiritual person. "'Good people pass away; the godly often die before their time. But no one seems to care or wonder why. No one seems to understand that God is protecting them." Isaiah 57:1-2 I love whenever he argued against zionists, he never ONCE brought up that he was Jewish, because he knew his arguments were cogent enough to stand on their own.

This. War brings out the most grotesque propaganda and everybody loses any semblance of nuance and intellectual honesty. These are the times I most miss Michael’s historically-grounded, thoughtful critique. People are cheering for Hamas even as they likely prepare to start beheadings. Or they’re cheering for Israel to commit mass murder. There are few, if any, people-centered critiques that hold Israel accountable, while contextualizing the Hamas attack, and still condemning it.
