This is the TMC DUMONT, which is a concept art motorcycle, designed and built by Retired F1 driver and designer Tarso Marques.
This ultra sleek, hubless wheel, motorcycle, is powered by an actual 300 hp, six-cylinder, Rolls-Royce Continental Aircraft Engine from 1960.
The TMC Dumont made its debut at the Daytona Bike Week in 2018, the most important customization event in the world, and won best in show out of 100 competing bikes.
The bike may be impractical for everyday use, but if we only ever create things that are practical, what’s the point of having an imagination and following a dream.
Thanks for watching

★★★ *FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE VIDEO / FACT UPDATES* ★★★ *1) What is the point of building a bike like that, it's a waste of time & money* - He is a professional motorbike designer & builder, and this bike won Best of Show at the biggest motorbike event, so he will now get loads of free marketing of his bike (like this video) and heaps of new business, as many more people will know of him and what he can make. So even if he spent $100k on building that bike, he could make that back ten fold, through free advertising and new business. *2) Does the bike have any kind of suspension or is it a hardtail* - The bike does have suspension. Notice at 2:10 there are small air bags for the front and rear swing arms. *3) The bike cannot turn corners* - Of course it can, he rides it to Bike Shows, he does not show it in the footage, but of course it can turn, the front wheel has 2 pivot points to turn the front wheel. *4) it's too low to the ground, there is no ground clearance for speed bumps etc* - The bike does have airbag suspension, the bike might be able to be raised and lowered as needed by a push of a button, so in the video while riding on a flat road they lowered it for maximum coolness, but can raise it as needed. They do the same thing with cars on 'Fast N Loud' when showing them off.

@Peter Evans Actually a lot of that is starting to happen as we speak. People are starting to awaken to the fact that there is a huge inequality problem. We are starting to figure out frequencies that can destroy cancer cells, let alone the rabbit hole of we are creating our diseases with our minds. Go check out Bruce Lipton's work on epigenetics. But for all of these things to happen someone has to have a dream that it can happen. If everyone could realise we are in this together and we our all creating this reality together then things will surely get better. But we have to dream and know it is possible first. And if you have enough insight about what is wrong with the world, what are you doing to make it better? Are you thinking of ways to cure cancer? Are you doing what is necessary to restructure governments? Practicality is only as good as those who know how to use it. Use your imagination to start making the difference you want to see. But if someone finds joy in creating something then there is nothing wrong with that. That joy, that love, of creating is essential to all of us. Don't get too caught up in all the fine details and look at the bigger picture. If everyone could follow their dreams without fear we would be living in a better world already. Like Morpheus says in the Matrix, "You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it." So it's up to the ones who do see what is going on to make the difference. Love and peace.

@whalesong999
@whalesong999 4 жыл бұрын
From what I see, the drive to the rear wheel is by friction wheel against the back tire. That precludes any practical application of power more than just enough to move it around. It is a gorgeous piece of work but is engineered to hold itself together enough to show that it can function. The engine unit weighs in the neighborhood of 300 lbs with all components so the structure is at it's limits, something a formula one driver would certainly be familiar with.

My thoughts exactly. I like the idea of it but it obviously needs some redesigning. I'd like to sit up and lean back a bit at traffic lights. Also I'd like to not have dirt and gravel slung all over my back. The headlights would be tricky. But I like the ingenuity and boldness. I'm wondering how difficult it would be to pick it up if you dumped it, as that engine is likely very heavy.

He solved the longitudinal engine configuration for a large engine. He put the drive pulleys for the CVT transmission, at the front of the engine, and ran an automotive CV axle shaft, to the rear. This allows the engine to be in the proper position. That's amazing. This configuration should be used by other people, because the transmission is always the most difficult part to fabricate, when using an airplane engine, or car engine. Using a CVT belt transmission is genius, because it allows the engine to have the proper gear ratios, instead of just 1 or 2 gears, like a Boss Hoss.

Really beautiful. I couldn't care less about the fact that is impractical: if you want to bend it, brake or avoid being ground by the rear wheel you just have to raise the engine and to increase the angle between the chassis and the wheels (which is currently 0°) to probably 30° (maybe less). But the concept is astounding. I guess that someone will perfect it and that TMC Dumont 2.0 will be electrical...
