And if I have to guess it'll be way more restricted than SL, it'll probably look close to Playstation Home, a very limited, PG, ad-riddled, glorified chatroom where you can buy useless cosmetics. VRChat already exists, and it's leagues beyond what zucc could even try to do legally and conceptually wise, unburdened from the shackles of copyright law and puritan pearl-clutchers.

The worst part was that Whatsapp was down. Facebook should have never bought them. Also they should never have bought Oculus because people couldn't even use that when Facebook was down. Why do you even have to log in to Facebook to play VR games?

@@nmoney000 Holy shit. That sucks. That's the reason why I don't use "sign up with Facebook" on websites because if I were ever banned for some reason, all those other accounts would be inaccessible. But for Oculus it's impossible to use it apart from Facebook, so they ruined a good device.

The problem with the Blumenthal quote is that he does actually know what finstas are. He had previously accurately described them, his question was poorly worded and taken out of context. He was trying to ask if Facebook would stop kids from being able to have accounts without parental oversight. Whether that's is something we want or not, the over-eager dunking on the dude just further helps Facebook make it seems like Congress has no business regulating them.

Was about to type that myself. This is a funny bit- but Finstas can be incredibly toxic. I’m not taking a position, but I agree that this inadvertently goes against their initial argument that there needs to be actual social media regulation. No doubt Congress had the wrong guy up there, as he phrased the problem and question terribly.

Just be a decent parent and check on them and watch them or check there phone in the worst case scenario.
