Not really. Home consoles of the time that were underpowered instead to reduce manufacturing costs. Just look at the list of the removed capabilities from the system 16 board that was the base for the Mega Drive.

This is the 32bit arcade version. Always looked way better than home consoles til way into the 90s.

It always sucks when NES is only 8 bit graphics when it comes to home consoles compared to the top notch graphics on the arcade machines.

Agreed. I'm excited for a new turtles game but I'm definitely looking way more forward to the cowabunga collection, than I am Shredder's revenge. I want to like it so much, but I just can't stand the way the weapon contact and animations, are completely covered up by flashy explosion graphics. That is not what the "Ninja" turtles are about. 😔

@@dvdjkaufmn Yeah Shredders Revenge doesn't do it for me - awful budget sound effects which are really distracting and completely take you out of the experience, dull forgettable music that takes you out of it even further and what's up with the small bodies and oversized heads of all the characters? Overall, the game just seems for the most part some clone of Turtles in Time - adds very little original of any note and may as well just be called "Bobble Head" edition with that weird choice of character proportions all throughout the game. TMNT 1989 just got everything right from start to finish, it truly was a Turtle fan's dream come true when it dropped seemingly out of nowhere.

@@NoName-od2qj Not for me, wasn't true enough to the cartoon. Looked like it tried to be something between the cartoon, the films and the comic and just ended up being nomadic. Just didn't work for me, nothing beats the first time magic of the original game when it hit the arcade.

unless you live in kentucky i wasnt in the theater with you however me and my cousin went to see this movie. his favorite was Donatello and mine is Michelangelo.

You and I are lot alike. Raph is my favorite red is my favorite color I had the worst temper growing up, Raph was always the fastest turtle in the games and I was the fastest kid (running) in my whole school.

Raph was my favorite character because of this. No one else I ever played with back in the day in my arcade could pull it off with regularity like I could. It’s basically a cheat move. Of course, when I try to pull it off today, I can’t :( I was sorely disappointed this wasn’t in the nes port

I'm going to guess because of the range of his weapons so they decided to change it.

Ironic too, because you can end the fight much faster if you coordinate it so they run into each other..lol

If you found this fight short, keep in mind this: Whenever you get killed, the difficulty level decreases: Less enemies, and bosses lose a lot of stamina. Try to get to this dual boss fight without being killed. You'll see how hard it gets! enemies multiply, and bosses are way more resilient.

Me too buddy. I'm assuming red is your favorite color too. The other sweet thing about Raphael in this game is he can do that roll kick technique that the other turtles can't do.🐢🐢🐢🍕🍕🍕
