I miss Michael Jackson everyday. Still get a lump in my throat been 15 years and I’ve never gotta over his passing. Still hurts. Wish MJ was still here. 😭💔❤️🙏🤴🏾👑🎤🎸

I am going through a really emotional reckoning about my first love, Michael Jackson, right now. See, I became angry and bitter with him in the late 90s/00s because I thought he had willfully mutilated the most beautiful face God ever created. It hurt me so bad seeing him called "wacko jacko" and I felt like he was stubbornly being weird and making everything worse and it was too painful to watch. But in the past 10.days I learned that on top of total vitiligo (I always knew he had it but not that it 100% depigmented him) he had discoidlupus which was the true cause.of his nose rotting away. A minor nose job and attempted correction never healed and he found out why only too late. It also took every hair on his body and face. For him, the media believing he was addicted to plastic surgery was less mortifying than the media knowing without the wig and makeup he was totally hairless and depigmented to the point even his lips were chalk white. I feel so guilty for getting angry with him and turning my back on him. He was just as sweet and good as I always thought he was.

@@angelmartin7310 Sadly it wasn’t till he passed that more information was released to the public. I mean he wasn’t gonna reveal his entire medical history understandably so. But there is a lot more about MJ I didn’t know until 2009. I didn’t know about the Lupus and how it affected him till his autopsy was revealed. At least we all know and have a better understanding of what MJ went through now. Don’t beat yourself up. The good thing is you didn’t turn a blind eye you informed yourself. Some don’t wanna do any research and just make up their minds and that’s that. It’s always good to investigate more to get a better understanding with Michael. It’s good you know more on MJ now. 😊

19:35 Gotta disagree with Jam on this. With everything Michael had to go through up until HIStory's released at the time, it was the perfect moment to have "Scream" be released as the first single.

You are not alone was way bigger. That became as big as Man in the mirror at the time. A song everybody could sing. While Scream was a bit difficult to listen to. Very hard pop.

@@erenyeeagah204Hundreds of songs have been written by R. Kelly ans sang by many artists. So, I don't understand why you even mentioned that. Are we to go back and vilify every artist through the centuries who have recorded songs written by people with legal issues? You probably work for someone who's had legal issues. Are you quitting your job now?🙄

To me, Mj releasing Scream as the 1st single was a culmination of the frustration he had been bottling up since the allegations in 93. You have to remember, the allegations hit in-between album releases & this was his 1st real outlet artistically where he could vent all his frustrations from what he had to deal with in the time leading upto the release of history. To ignore those feelings & release You are not alone would have been denying mj how he felt. He says people had moved on but we werent the ones being accused of henious acts.

I'll never forget even though I was like 8 or 9. I loved it. I wish Michael had gotten even angrier, angry enough to cut the entire world down to size for mocking him for the physical effects of a terrible disfiguring disease (discoidlupus) which took his beautiful brown skin, his hair even eyebrows and lashes, and caused that minor nose.job to never ever heal and basically rot away. He didn't want people to know just how disfigured he was, he went to great lengths to hide it because he knew they might say even crueler things if they knew without the alterations he would be totally hairless with no brows or lashes and chalk white lips.

First, “I love Michael, he is the greatest”. Now, Scream was hot! Michael was so accustomed to recording, you would have to know him personally to make that kind of judgment of how he felt at the time. Also, recording it & releasing it are two different things & are done at different times, & recording it would have brought an aggressive state of mind but releasing it is just releasing it, so at which time is Jimmy Jam referring to where Michael felt happy & it would not have been good to what, record it or release it?

Don’t think so. If you look at the Track List, it starts with "Scream" and ends with "Smile". Very much fitting with what MJ wanted to do - let people know that he was angry yet at the end of the day (album) he‘ll get through it and just keep smiling and doing what he does best. 😊

Great song and an amazing video. However, HIStory should have been a single album with the best 10 songs. Never cared much for D.S., Little Susie, Smile. Come Together dated back from the 80s and had nothing to do with the rest of the album. And the fact they released a double album not only hurt its sales potential by making it too expensive but also meant you couldn't access a decent greatest hits compilation.

I wonder how a Prince album produced by Jimmy & Terry would turn out. I know it probably would never have happened but that would’ve been interesting.
@Shu-shani100
@Shu-shani100 14 күн бұрын
I agree, but knowing Prince, he wouldn’t have agreed to it since he wrote, arranged, composed, & produced his songs. He was a musical genius but Michael had the Universe with him running through his whole existence & he was a creator, a pioneer, very blessed, & smart as hell with a beautiful soul.

I actually don't believe it would've been that much different than what Prince was already doing. Remember, they all were products of the same Minneapolis sound 🙄.

@@provocateurjoseph69 I hear you they’re from the same camp. Jam & Lewis productions are more commercial. And I know Prince mostly likely wouldn’t have gone for it but I would be interested to know how Jam & Lewis would approach a Prince project and their interpretation of Prince, protege producing the mentor situation, but I guess it’s all fantasy at this point.
@provocateurjoseph69
@provocateurjoseph69 12 күн бұрын
@triqid With all due respect, Prince was basically a commercial artist as well. For the record, I don't believe Prince would've went for it neither, but moreso because of his ego than anything else. In my opinion, that ego prevented him from greater success. It didn't allow him to embrace that others may have more creative ideas than himself. Also, I always viewed Jam & Lewis as contemporaries of Prince & NOT any type of "students" to him, but whatever.
