just makes me want to give up making music because I can't think of chords/rhythms and arrangment like this to improvise and compose creative music without having to reference other composers all the time. I just can't make anything without using references.

tn-shi actually never learnt music theory, which I believe is part the reason why their melodies and chords are so unique, but either way is a incredible upcoming talent who is proof that sometimes breaking the rules and doing your own thing can lead to insane results

i think it’s usually the danceability, because of the polyrhythm and just generally really fast rhythms this genre of music never really gets popular cause it’s hard to dance to and stuff

I always find it refreshing to listen to tn-shi. It provides an escape from the usual classical chord progressions that were drilled into me as a child. Hopefully, one day, I can break free from the standard curriculum and compose music as exciting as this! Thank you tn-shi.
