Awesome video and buck. Can’t believe he stayed so composed after shooting that caliber of buck with traditional gear.

Great hunt and story glad to see the whole family involved very special. You are indeed lucky to have a nice place to hunt and great deer like that. Blessed!

New subscriber. You might want to start tying off to tree while setting stands. At beginning of video you were tightening ratchet strap while standing on your top stick. In 2019 I was doing the same thing and the stick strap broke and I fell 19’. 2 surgeries on left foot and 3 surgeries on right shoulder. I am lucky I am able to walk. Please be safe fellas. Its always when you don’t expect it when accidents happen. Great buck and awesome video

Soooo refreshing to watch a bow hunter make a killing hit without starting to CRY, or arm pump out of control with a few whispered obscenities & then or call up fellow hunters as ‘DUDE’ !! Perhaps a reflection of their age but don’t get me wrong, I respect their dedication to our sport, and verrry skillful hunters, etc etc but get it all together guys AFTER a killing hit as this bow hunter has !! We should ALL take a page out of his book! Well done & love your interaction with your young sons & theirs to you who no doubt will grow up to be a mature, responsible hunter & Dad like you !!!!

Awesome video, thanks for sharing! I hunted with trad equipment for 9 years and all I wanted to do was put a shot on a deer like you did on the buck. Didn't happen very often so I'm back to compounds. Congrats on an awesome shot and buck!!!

I hunt with a compound but I'm very interested in getting into traditional maybe getting one and practice for a year or two before taking it into the field been hunting with a compound for 20 years now ready for the challenge and a change

Did the same myself several years ago and never looked back. Practiced 1.5 years and shot 3D before taking the trad bow hunting. For me it is significantly more rewarding. And practicing (99% of your arrows flung) is so much more enjoyable with a recurve or longbow.

I noticed you took pictures in the morning. My experience generally hunting in hot, humid climates we have to clean the animal right away. I am guessing the temperature was cold enough that you gutted the animal and left the everything else intact for next day pics? I know some do that dry aging meat (leave hide on and hang)
