Pham Ngoc Thao ending was very likely to happen in real life if Thao hide fast enough when the Priests tell his enemies his location.Even after his death,nobody knows he was a communist except Ho Chi Minh and some high officals of the north like Vo Nguyen Giap themselves.Truly a legend,die without revealing himself Note:He was confirmed to be a communist in 1995,and yes he is the second greatest agent of Vietnam,behind “Mr.Nobody” Pham Xuan An. Edit: Before he died,the CIA was the one who train him to be the potential future leader of the South Vietnam lol (After he become the highest general in the RVN). If he listened to Pham Xuan An and Le Duan to not stay and do the riot he would have take down the whole RVN later, being a lone wolf for too long really affected his big mistake. One of the only spies who can directly destroy their enemy’s country easily. Edit 2: Big mistake Vo Nguyen Giap didn’t knew until 1996

@@Based_Gigachad_001 He is built different,he almost become the leader of the RVN, even the CIA thinks he is just a political enemy of Diem,not a communist.No one knows how did he do that,he didn’t even work secretly,one of the only Vietnamese communists to have the memorial picture in the RVN suit.

@@mangonel I would agree that democracy is essential for a sustainable civil society. But Liberal Democracy, applied universally around the world, is incompatible, because if so, Francis Fukuyama would have been right and he would not have to denounce it, Lybia, Iraq, Afghanistan, ... would be proven as the future of liberal democracy. But evidently, they became a hot bed of terrorism and corruption. So Liberal Democracy cannot be the form of every country. It depends a lot on multiple factors like context, geopolitical significance, demographics and rooted ideology. One example is that The first republic of Vietnam failed not because of dictatorship, but because USA deemed Ngo Dinh Diem too unfavorable, while Augusto Pinochet and Soeharto were tolerated, even encouraged. While free media and civil society in the second RVN provided too many loopholes for VC and PAVN to infiltrate. That is why I see while you disagree with dictatorship in favor of democracy and I understand that, I'll say the right form in the right time and the right place is more practical and consistent compared to thinking about democracy vs dictatorship, good or bad. Once again, thank you for sharing your viewpoints. I appreciate it
