I ride over to Ipswich on the Honda Transalp, meet up with Danny on his KTM 1290 Adventure. After that, I pinch his Royal Enfield Classic 500, for a ride into the Essex countryside where I spend the weekend in a log cabin for the Libertatia tool roll photoshoot.
You can now pick up our brand new tool rolls at www.thelibertatia.com

These beautiful retro bikes like these Royal Enfield are the true motorcycles for aesthetes and philosophers among motorcyclists. They are just as suitable for long tours. Slowing down isn't a problem for everyone.

In the case of late model Bullett 500s they’re also the natural choice for any home mechanics out there as QC was…well, slightly spotty. Hopefully that was the idea behind the shoot. Product looks great if a bit steep compared to the Kreiga roll I use. Totally different style and I understand why it costs like it does but I figure it’s more for someone buying their first roll rather than people who already have one. Best of luck with the sales mr Dobbs, looks very dashing.

You don’t need a £17,000 bike to tour Normandy. I did it last year on my sub £4,000 royal Enfield meteor. From south wales, across from Portsmouth to ouistreham and at 100 mpg. Sat nav was my phone, mounted with a quad lock. Plugged into the convenient standard USB port.

I'm a big fan of Freddie and love his vlogs, also his enthusiasm for his products but the price of this particular product is over the top. Having said that though, most things relating to motorcycles are the same. They cater so much on the born again and middle class bikers who have vast amounts of disposable income who are willing to pay out for this stuff.

I think whatever makes your own riding experience better and puts a smile on your face and gets you to your destination safe, is fine with me, we're all different, we all like different amounts of tech and power and sttyles of bike. That for me, is what I love about biking, all things for all people to get them on two wheels and push the limits of what their bike was designed to do, or just enjoy it as is. Great video.

Love the Tool Roll, These days you are not expected to have to use tools on a new motorcycle so no longer get a set of spanners in a plastic bag under the seat, I guess today's bikes are less likely to break down, however, it would be nice to have a few basic tools when you purchase a new motorcycle, handy even just to carry an adjustable etc to adjust the chain and charge or replace the battery, hopefully it provides a nice income for Monika and whoever else is involved, Great innovation towards safe motorcycling.

Going car like isn't a real selling point to me but Danny seems very happy with it. I guess it is a great tool for longer rides. Some my memorable rides were on basic motorcycles without the aid of technology. However, the hitting the easy button may not be as memorable but the increased number of rides on technology advanced bikes may add up to the old school rides.

There is no comparaison between the Transalp and the KTM 1290. KTM’s bad reliability is much more of a urban legend than a reality. Like for every motorcycle, if you care about them, respect them, I believe you’ll enjoy them long time without reliability problem. In the big adventure segment, I think KTM is really the best value&performances for the money. I got the 1290 R version, and it works perfect for me, I’ve owned or tested many others and there is not a single one I would trade for it. Thanks for you excellent video, as usual 👍

One more very important thing : if you'd only ask Monica about those old Chech motorcycles, I'm pretty certain she'd have something to tell you, at least a little!

U can customize the transalp plenty enough traction enginebrake torque aand so on. The only thing the ktm has over the alp is suspension hrprs and worse qulity.

This is the concern. The bikes people always tell me are the best for a genuine round the world trip are the basic mid level Japanese bikes (V-Strom, Transalp type bikes)

I have a 2016 (registered 17) Enfield 500 Bullet - it's the worst bike I've ever owned in so many ways, but the one that I've loved since I first chucked a leg over it, and will never ever sell.
